    Threadless stem adaptor/conversion - opinions?

I don’t know anything about threadless adaptors. But I visited the site via your link. I think it looks very good on their sample bike. Doesn’t look out of place. Kind of OEM. If it’s a quality product and it works for you, I say go for it. Especially if it keeps you on your Cannondale.

Vintage bikes dead in your area or still going?

Should I stop buying? This is starting to read like I’m gonna be stuck with “some” bikes…. :)

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Shimano Ultegra pedals. They were on the bike when I bought it but removed them as soon as I brought the bike home. Riding a bike is like riding a bike? Not really. There are hundreds of small skills that just weren’t there anymore. Like standing to pedal up an incline. Up until a month ago I...

    Stage race with your Cannondale

I thought about it some more. The reason the idea of racing has crept into my thinking is due to my past. For 20+ years I ran. Not once was it for general fitness or weight loss. I always “trained” for racing. So now that my skill and fitness level are better than 6 months ago I’m thinking of a...

Vintage bikes dead in your area or still going?

At first glance $80k strikes me as a lot of money. And a lot of bikes. Then I realize that I’m thinking my level of bikes. It would take a warehouse full to reach $80k. I’d bet (pun intended) that Vegas collector has some real nice bikes.

    Stage race with your Cannondale

Quick math says 435 miles (700 km) in 7 days. Now that would be epic!

    Stage race with your Cannondale

I watched a couple videos made during the Baker city race. Their average pace on the flats is my finish line speed in front of my house. And their speed on a big descent without technical corners approaches 60 mph (97 kph). I'm likely 12 months plus away from being that competent.

    Stage race with your Cannondale

Has anyone done racing with a Cannondale? The idea has crossed my mind. I know very little. I’ve learned about categories, ie. Cat 1,2,3,4,5. Also the general idea that the lowest elapsed time of the combined stages wins. There is an event 10 weeks away that is about 2 hours from my place of...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Went for my normal neighborhood “sprint” this morning. And I did it with clipless pedals. I practiced on the lawn in the backyard last night. I only ate dirt once. I found that I could put more power to the crank on the flat to the finish line.

Vintage bikes dead in your area or still going?

I too wonder @letsbike where are the high end bikes? I think you’re correct that not many were sold. No matter the brand, a high end vintage bike doesn’t turn up that often. I’ve seen one or two spots down from the top model for any given brand occasionally. I’ve thought about it these past few...

    1986 SR400

Classic bikes are great @letsbike . Indeed you should make it roadworthy. Is the paint and decals presentable enough for a rider? There are pro bike painters out there. As much as I enjoy tinkering on the classics, when I go for my version of a serious ride it’s on one of my newest Cannondale’s.

    1986 SR400

The “S” decals are still on the head and seat tubes. The fork and downtube decals were removed at some point prior to the seller owning the bike. Ahh yes it would’ve been too early for a Cannondale. As filming was done during the July 84 Coors Classic. I watched a couple videos of the CC...

    1986 SR400

A friend is visiting his kids this week a 7 hour drive away. He’s transporting this for me and I’ll see it either tomorrow afternoon or the next day. He wouldn’t accept gas money. So I’ve offered my services to tune up his bikes as payment. Good thing I know a lot more than last summer. I’ve...

Vintage bikes dead in your area or still going?

Very few vintage vs. others on my local CL. I don't FB so there are probably quite a bit more. I don't know for sure. But most used bikes get listed there. It seems what mostly resides on CL if it is older are from flippers. The vintage mountain that does show up on CL out does road 2:1 easy...

    1986 SR400

The ones that are most desirable (by those with deeper pockets than I) are the ones by 3Rensho (master builder Yoshi Konno). Less than 100 built (I think). My apologies for the thread slide away from Vintage Cannondale....

I don't know enough about bicycling/racing to catch those gaffes. How about shoulder rubbing? Is that a thing? No officials to see it happen, but would it?
