    Highest touring model seen

I’ve searched on ebay for the wheel models listed for the Cannondale touring bikes but have yet to find any for sale. The wheels on my ST400 are in good shape, I was hoping to find at least a front for a spare.

New York. The same seller that I bought my complete Black Lightning from. I really liked the bike, but shipping cost was why I had to pass. Too bad as it was near mint.

I’ve thought about whether or not touring wheels were stronger than regular road bike wheels. I came across an ebay ad for a cutaway display of Wolber wheels that showed the difference.

I do like the direction this thread is headed. I’m discovering more than just the ride feel of touring framed bikes.

Unknown 1998 CAAD2, please help identify.

Very nice bike! Please more pictures with the local scenery in the background! Norway is beautiful. If you haven’t looked through the catalog links already you could try that, although there are only a few Europe catalogs. And there is not one for 1998. JI= September 1998 1998 catalog (US)...

    Another very old ST500. 1983 or 1984

Unless you have all the different colors, you do.

    1987 SR400 Team Comp

That’s a great deal. My oldest daughter would love the pink.

    Another very old ST500. 1983 or 1984

I keep coming back and looking at these pictures. It looks to be in fantastic shape. If it was nearby I’d buy it. Shipping logistics would be difficult and cost enough to be almost too much for the overall expense.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Ride with a view of the Boise Foothills. I had not ridden the R500 all winter. Now that I’m more familiar with brifters it was a fun ride.

    Cannondale History

I believe it was his video on the Lefty that I watched last year. Yes @JohnnyD ”quirky” . My own experience with the headshock when new was disappointing; losing its air charge. Quickly. And from what I learned about the Lefty before I bought one was migrating bearings. Can they really be called...

Yes @marknutzman it is a great color! And I too would've considered that ST800. Looks close enough to the catalog.

Top of the hill nearby. Not as scenic with the chainlink fence compared to in the saddle.

Dia-Compe XCT brake pad part number?

What is the brake pad part number for the cantilever brake? In the 1990 catalog the ST1000 brakeset is listed as the 984. That pad part number is opc-25. I’ve found opc-25LK The ST400 lists the brakeset as just XCT. Dia-Compe seems to run their models by number not letters. If the xct takes...

    Back to Biking!!

This one that I rode yesterday is my favorite “workhorse”. It was a nice sunny day for a ride.

    Back to Biking!!

Eight, sold one to a coworker. Probably will put a few up for sale in the next month or so. Don’t have room for them all. Wish I did.

    Highest touring model seen

What is the highest touring model that has been seen, owned or ridden? I myself own a 1990 ST400. I have not seen one in person higher in model number. In the gallery there is one 800 and one 900. I’ve never seen a 1000 (or higher) posted for sale on the internet in the short time that I’ve...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Same boring photo out in front of my house. Well except for the white stuff. I keep meaning to stop and take a photo mid ride. But I’m usually into a cadence that I don’t want to interrupt. I did climb a hill that used to be my fitness tester back when I ran a lot. I wanted to test the gearing...
