    New rubber

The brackets are slid all the way to the back of the slots @JohnnyD I’ll have to fabricate or find longer brackets. There is an ad on my local craigslist for a half dozen racks at $15 a piece. I may go check them out. Maybe I’ll find a better fitting one.

    New rubber

While attached to the correct part of the frame it’s still evident the rack is for a smaller frame. There is tire clearance. So it stays. For now.

    Sobe promotional

I’ve been eyeballing a Sobe promotional mtb on ebay. The seller says it’s a 2000 year model. I recall seeing pictures somewhere, but no information. In one of the pictures I can see a SRAM rear derailleur. I’m guessing the M400 is the base for the build. Ebay Sobe

    New rubber

I think I finally convinced Mrs.Idaho that I can put her on a bike better than her Huffy. Her comment was; “Wow! It does shift nice!” I knew better than to launch into a diatribe about quality derailleurs, once tuned properly work great. I just told her to go for a ride and shift the darn thing.

    New rubber

Thought I’d work on Mrs.Idaho’s bike today. I serviced the hubs and installed a set of Continental Town&Country tires. And installed a rear rack. I need to work on leveling it a bit. Funny it looked level while the bike was in the stand. It’s not the correct size (I think). Also I didn’t have...

I saw that listing. Great condition. I’m glad it is too small for me as well.

From experience, that tends to make my hands go all tingly.

    1995 Killer V500

I really like this gem that came up for sale on my local craigslist. The original owner is asking $200. I’d be on my way tomorrow to pick it up, but it is only a 17” frame. I see in the catslog it was offered in bigger sizes of 19” and 21”. Being 6’2” I’m guessing a 21” would be my more size. I...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

@letsbike you sure are quite the Joker Great weather this week. It only broke 90 degrees (32C) one day. I’ll add the dork disc to maintenance items to do list. I tried to get one last trip out of the headshock. I hadn’t rode it since last summer. The Headshock was a slow leaker then, but a...

Out of Commission for a While

Sorry for your injuries. You will heal in time. Like @black lightning 1987 said, check tension. And maybe when you’re ready to ride outside again, switch to flat pedals for a bit.

Not one, but two, primo condition 1989 SM400 mountain bikes

Makes sense now. Owner must have back issues. I can relate.

Not one, but two, primo condition 1989 SM400 mountain bikes

I like the blue colored one. Except for the stem. I have never seen a picture of one that tall. I had no idea such a thing existed. I bet a sloping top tube model would be a rare find.

    Restoring a 1993 R900

Nice project! I do not currently own a 2.8 framed bike. But on the frames I do, I have 25mm tyres installed and I would think a 28mm would be possible. Hopefully someone with a 2.8 will be along to advise.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

A quick sprint around the neighborhood with Black Lighting One to test my Shimano 105/Kool Stop brake mod.

    1988 Black Lightning

BL I received a brake caliper mod today. I bought a set of Shimano 105 (5501) calipers in black and added Kool Stop pads. A remarkable improvement. They weren’t a direct swap. Rear Caliper: The stud nut was a bit longer on the 105. A thicker standard for the brake bridge I assume. So I used...

Unknown model with Campagnolo Chorus from 1988?

Definitely looks factory. Special Promo or Team? Others here are much more qualified to answer what it is. I think it's unique. Very unique. I dig it! After a trip down google lane I have seen the 89 with the Athena. Same paint scheme. Also in the catalog. So a factory offering that wasn't in...
