    Dark prophet

It's great to see how much effort you put into your builds.

    SM2000

I think I have a better looking XT short cage rear derailleur if you want to swap the cages.

    Omega galore

That is great. I've always wanted to do something similar and open for public viewing. Someone needs to open a Cannondale museum.

    Modernized SR600

Might be a bit more than 30 years old, but nice to see someone appreciating an early Cannondale road frame.

    How about defining vintage cannondale

First reaction to the question would be made in USA Cannondales. But they are already 13 years old, so I think at some point later models will need to be included.

    New Crankset for CAAD 5

I haven't kept up on current Campagnolo wheels but I'm guessing they are still sold with both Campagnolo and Shimano freehub bodies. Either way you should be fine with going to Shimano 11.

    I have a 1990 sm400 mountain bike

That looks like a 1990 SM400. Are the components SunTour XCM? Are you looking to restore it to original or make it fit your priorities?

Help! Is this Fake? (CAAD 3 R something)

Those dot matrix stampings can be hard to read. I couldn't begin to decipher yours from the photo. Crank does not look like anything that Cannondale supplied, but the frame is surely Cannondale. CAAD3? Picture of fork would also help.

    For Sale F2000 Lefty (2005)

Your grandfather's bike appears to be a touring frame but I haven't tracked down the exact year and model. The T1000 was Iceland Green for a couple of years in the mid 1990s. Since it doesn't appear to have a model decal, he could have built it from a frameset. I would look for a 1994 or 1995...

Silk path 400 (2000?) new life.

Nice find. I've looked for one without success. Always thought they would make a nice gravel roads bike.

    What year sm2000

My guess would be 1989. Catalog shows similar paint but black rather than blue.

    Omega galore

I always wanted the Cook Bros. cranks but have never sprung for them. I was lucky to land a Topline crank for one of the road bikes though.

    SOLD Killer V 700 (1998) - Price drop

If my friend in Alpharetta was coming back to IL anytime soon I would be very tempted.

Widest tire in early 1991 MTB?

I checked my 1993 M800 with 2.25 Bontrager tire and chainstay clearance is similar to what JohnnyD posted. Much better clearance on the fork. I would think that clearance is going to be more dependent on brand/model of tire than 2.25 vx. 2.3.

Widest tire in early 1991 MTB?

I think that I have 2.25" tires on my 1993 M800. Width and diameter can vary with tire manufacturer and even model though. I would expect that chainstay clearance would be the most critical point on the 3.0 frames. I have had problems with mud jamming up in the brake area of the later frames...

Headshok Fatty Ultra fork not ridden in ages

My gut feeling on the question about running it as is is the same as Brian's, but I am no expert. I have 6 or 7 Headshok bikes but have only done minimal work on a first year Silk Road.

Hope some of our Headshok experts will chime in soon. If not, you might shoot MikeA a private message.

You could probably seal it with some RTV silicone.
