    shifter help

It doesn't look like you have the rear shifter assembled properly. The plastic ring should be right up against the lever.

    Re-attaching a downtube shifter boss

Aircraft Spruce will have something that will be a lot stronger than you will find at your local hardware store. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/ha/rivets.html

    shifter help

The indexed Sprint shifter should have a plastic ring around the body of the shifter that can be turned to three different positions. Yours may have gotten turned to the friction position. https://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=18AF75BD-ED8C-440B-91AB-12BDA9F8C2C7&Enum=104&AbsPos=42

    Re-attaching a downtube shifter boss

Best would be to find a trashed frame that has the bosses with a through bolt. There was at least one aftermarket replacement, I'm unsure if it is still available.

    1997 H500

I've been looking for one for a long time. Odd that they don't turn up very often. I think they'd make a great gravel bike.

    Cannondale Trikots

That's an odd one.. From a shop that sold both brands?

I thought it was a steal at $200.

    1990 SM400

Bike looks great. I haven't used SRAM other than 10 speed. Good to know that MTB drivetrain will work with road shifters. What is the handlebar?

    Restoring a 1993 R900

I didn't recall that they used a 1 1/4" fork in 1993. My 1992 R1000 has a 1" threaded fork. I have a couple of other 2.8 frames with the aluminum forks but I think they are all 1", will have to check.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Same here. Supposed to be mid to upper 90s today and super humid. I spent the morning picking up debris from last night's storm. Power has been off for about 12 hours so far. 3' diameter hackberry tree had the road blocked south of my house but a crew had it pretty well cleaned up by 10 AM.

Out of Commission for a While

Good to hear. Does the arm feel better?

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Too bad. It would be fun to get on the train at Monett and ride the bike back. Seems that the train only runs between Van Buren and Springdale though.

    Today we celebrate Aluminum!

The only problem is I'd have to do that to a lot of stones to find the correct one(s).

    Highest touring model seen

The touring bikes were 6 speed prior to 1990, and presumably 126 mm. I would have guessed that the switch to 135 mm came when the MTB standard became 135, but Velobase says that the M732 was the first 135 mm XT hub and that it was introduced in 1989.

    Today we celebrate Aluminum!

There's a country cemetery near me that has very few intact stones. Most are broken or unreadable. I don't know if there's a record somewhere of who is buried there. I've looked at several different cemeteries for family members from the 1800s. A lot of stones from that era are so weathered...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

That looks like a fun train trip. Cool that they are running passenger trains. Do they allow bikes on board?
