I wouldn't think your M700 would weigh 30 lbs. As I recall, my 1995 M900 weighs right at 25 lbs.

2002 looks right based on the decals on the fork. Also the disc brakes and CAAD4 frame are consistent with a 2002 F600. You might check the component list in the back of the 2002 catalog and see how it compares to your bike.

Don't blame you. I've never paid $90 for a cassette of any brand/vintage. I've taken a lot of cassettes apart and replaced the spacers in order to get what I was after.

Not much here for NOS MTB cranks other than the FSAs. I have a lot more stuff for road bikes than mountain. Perhaps you just need a new cassette and chain. I might have something that would work depending on what you need.
