Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Up early for a twenty mile ride before sunrise. Later in the afternoon I'm riding home on a beautiful Spring day that belongs in April, not March.

Ride with a view of the Boise Foothills. I had not ridden the R500 all winter. Now that I’m more familiar with brifters it was a fun ride.

No Cannondale yesterday, but I did "Dig the Ride."
(A couple of times actually.)
It was a holiday after all.

The 60-70 degree temps we had here in the past few weeks have ruined me for riding now that it's back to normal - highs in the 40s mainly.

Another early morning ride to check on the expanding beaver dam. I might be pushing through water if I ride here next week.

Great scenery @letsbike ! Reminds me of a time that by the calendar it was a long time ago. But I remember like it was yesterday. I had a favorite, secret fishing hole that was also a beaver pond. I caught a few dandy Brook Trout every spring.

I rode a whopping 6 miles this a.m. It has a good size hill midway and I tried keeping a 15 mph (24 kph) pace on the flats. The last several rides I‘ve been finishing strong in front of my house (trying to impress Mrs.Idaho in case she’s looking out the window). Fitness level is getting better.

I will have the look for the MKS beartraps. The SunTours bring more money than I want to spend. I have lots of SPD pedals but seldom want to take the time to change shoes.

These caught my eye today. Pretty cool as far as uniqueness goes; and they say Cannondale on them! Bonus.

Those are new to me.

Beaver seem to be less of a problem around here lately. 20 years ago it was common to hire dams dynamited to keep streams from flooding farm land. Haven't heard of any issues recently.

I saw the first flowering tree here yesterday, though temps were in the 40s most of the day. Normal for the date is 63. I'm looking forward to a ride without winter clothes. Will be warmer next week but rain is predicted most days.

Went for my normal neighborhood “sprint” this morning. And I did it with clipless pedals.

I practiced on the lawn in the backyard last night. I only ate dirt once.

I found that I could put more power to the crank on the flat to the finish line.

I'm going to stick to using nothing but flat pedals on my bikes. I am liable hurt myself worse trying to unclip fast enough that the injuries I will sustain will be worse than the occasional pedal pin bites I have gotten on my shins over the years.

I couldn't tell what brand of pedals you have. Everyone falls at least once. I met up with friends from STL and Alabama for a ride in southern IL a few years back and the AL guy (on a Synapse) failed to unclip at a stop sign and fell over. He wasn't new to clipless pedals. I change bikes all the time, most have clipless pedals. Even if the same cleat type, they don't always unclip the same way. Some of my Look pedals unclick easier if I rotate my heel inboard rather than outboard.
I find that when I'm tired making more of an effort to pull up on the pedal when riding clipless can help get over the hills.
