First Year of Production Cannondale Cyclocross Bike?

Yes, the XR800 was the CX model at the time. The XS800 had Headshok front suspension but was otherwise the same. Wheels are Campagnolo Khamsin. There was a CX version of the next level up Scirocco wheels but I don't know how it differed from the road version. I assume the rim was slightly...

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

I didn't realize that baking temp for powder coat was that hot. I should look into the heat treatment process for 6061 and see what the critical factors are. Paint generally looks nicer anyway as far as I'm concerned, but I know some folks really like their powder coat results from places...

First Year of Production Cannondale Cyclocross Bike?

Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty sure that 1998 was the first year for the XR800 and XS800. They were Viper Red that year. Cannondale may have made some CX frames before that for team members. Here's my 1999 XR800. I'd love to find the same frame in 60 cm size, or even better a 60 cm XS...

Steerer Tube diameter for 2002 Cannondale R400

All except the R400 I think. It had a threaded fork and a quill stem. Pretty sure it had a 1" head tube.

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

Nice job of painting the bar and stem. Are you getting wet paint or powdercoat on the frame?

    Moto Fork Boots?

Black ones were made. I would check with Craig at Mendon CycleSmith.

    Anybody race/raced their Cannondale?

I agree with you. I remember doing a Cat 4 road race near Springfield IL 25 years ago with some guy in the pack that was screaming at people - he was so wound up. Nothing at stake but he wasn't having any fun and kind of ruined the day for everyone else.

    Greetings and Salutations

I don't know as I've seen a Salsa in 1 1/4" but I'd bet Kore made them, Control Tech too for sure. I found a 1 1/4" Syncros Cattle Prod in an old ExcelSports catalog. Other known makers from old catalogs are: Answer, Grove, Ringle, Rocket Science, and Zoom. I have a hunch that ITM may have...

Did you mean 12 mm or 12 degrees? Saw the crank. I should probably pitch the PX3 arm and forget about trying to find a mate for it.

    FOR SALE: 1986 Cannondale SR800 (coral, 58cm)

A 58 cm frame measures right at 612 mm from center of BB to top of seat tube. I have heard people say center of BB to top of seat tube minus one inch, but by my measurement it's closer to 1 1/8" (32 mm). The frame I measured is clearly stamped 58.

    Vintage Decals

Brian is the guy that owns the site. My decals are white and were intended to go on a bike that will never be fully restored. I still have the bike but could possibly part with the stay decals. You would still be lacking the 3.0 seat tube decal.

    Greetings and Salutations

Believe that picture was taken after I got home with a Campagnolo road wheelset in a box strapped on top, 15 miles with about 3" of snow on the roads. I also pulled a one wheel trailer loaded with 100 lbs. of groceries at times, 12 miles home as low as 20 degrees. Here's the geometry chart...

    Vintage Decals

I'm not sure if Brian plans to have any more made. I know he is very busy at work right now due to the pandemic. Some of the decals you need are available at Velocals, but I don't think they have the 3.0 or stay decals. I have a set of 1987 decals that I got from Brian which included the seat...

    Greetings and Salutations

Welcome. Nice Beast. I have a '93 that I purchased in basically new condition in the mid 90s. Have never needed to upgrade any of the original LX parts. It doesn't get ridden as much as it used to but it's still a great bike.

    First Project

Some years/models have screws, some pop rivets. You probably have another on the underside of the left chainstay, or perhaps an open hole. I don't know why they had them but assume it had something to do with the manufacturing process. They may have filled the stays with Argon when welding to...

    WTB 1986 SR800

I checked but didn't find anything on craigslist from central IA east, central WI south, all of IL, and St. Louis area. Will try to keep an eye out.

    CODA MTB Parts Needed...

Is the stem for a Headshok or rigid fork? I have several NOS Headshok stems. Can't recall off hand what lengths/rises. They are at a friend's house in STL. The Coda saddles were made in MTB and road models, the MTB having kevlar fabric on the rear corners. I have a 1000 here somewhere that...
