86 SR500 finally finished (except for tape)

Those frames have a short wheelbase but the rest of the geometry isn't unusual for a road bike.

    Looking for number

Looks like your bar code sticker is missing. It would have had the year code. Can you see if there is a sleeve in the BB shell, separate from the shell itself? I had a CAAD9 road frame that was sleeved for threaded cups. Dealers installed them when they wanted to use cranks other than...

You will get used to the handling.

    1984 SR700

I would guess somewhere in the $200-300 range. You could likely net more by parting it out.

    Looking for number

Paint/decals look like a 2008 Taurine Team, but that was a BB30 frame. Guessing yours is not as it has an XT crank.

86 SR500 finally finished (except for tape)

Looks good. We had a bit of a break from the humidity today but it was still in the upper 80s when I rode late this afternoon.

    CAAD 3 58cm Frame/Fork Weight

They never listed frameset weights, other than in "2.8" and "3.0" era, as far as I can remember. I don't have any bare CAAD3 frames to weigh. Closest I have is a 60 cm CAAD7.

    F2000

Try again to answer my question about the brakes if you like.

    1984 SR700

Are you sure it's 1984? Perhaps post serial number. It would have had downtube shifters originally but the Sora (?) STI isn't necessarily a bad thing.

    F2000

What's the problem with the brakes? They can be kind of fussy to get set up, but it's mostly a matter of getting the pads and spring tensions set right.

    CAAD3 Seat post size

I've never seen an older Cannondale that wasn't 27.2 mm.

    F2000

Looks like a nice one. First thing I would do is put some wheels and a handlebar on it and see how the Headshok feels.

    F700 Volvo Edition

Looks li I've seen crazy asking prices for NOS Sedis chains but have't looked for them lately. There were several levels of them in the 90s.

    Brake Bracket Hood?

I wish that I was more knowledgeable about the various models. I don't have any Shimano parts books from that era but you might find something by searching.

    Brake Bracket Hood?

First piece of advice, never toss anything without knowing the availability of a replacement. Never toss a hood that isn't too crumbly to use. I've cleaned up very ugly hoods using lacquer thinner, but it sounds like you don't have that option now. Shimano used a different hood design for...

86 SR500 Project is Moving into the Strip and Repaint Stage

I just wish I had someone to drive the tractor when I'm square baling. I bale until one falls off the rack, then stop and go back to stack. It's very slow but I've never found reliable help at $15/hr. I often bale on the ground as it's quicker to get the baling done, and I can pick them up at...

86 SR500 Project is Moving into the Strip and Repaint Stage

Sorry that I didn't get around to photographing mine and looking for rings. I've been in the hay field every night until 10 PM the last few days.

86 SR500 Project is Moving into the Strip and Repaint Stage

Interesting. I always thought the quill was everything that was inside the fork.

Not sure what you mean about the quill. Do you mean the wedge?
