This was a warranty replacement from years ago that I stripped to build another mountain bike. The frame and fork sat in a closet collecting dust until I decided to turn it into a city bike. This is a collection of old and new, it's light and stiff, great fun to ride. Suntour XC Pro/Comp shifters and rear derailleur, rear brake only (plan ahead!), Raceface single crankset, Sun Rhynolite Rims with Deore hubs and 7 speed cassette.
After my 1st mountainbike (Giant Terrago) was stolen, I looked out for a new one. Found this M500 in southern Bavaria and bought it in April 2001. Was love at first view, mainly the colour, the flowing lines of the tubes and the reduced design with silver decals. The beginning of my Cannondale fanship. Some months later it was stolen too. Still miss it... CAAD2, Battleship Grey, 24-speed Shimano, CODA 500 wheels, 26`*2,10 tires, CODA saddle. Changed the stem into a 30°. Not sure about the...

I have no idea what kind of bike this is. It says M200LE but I have never found one that looks like this.If anyone knows could you email me? I have looked in all of the Cannondale catalogs and cannot find this bike. I want to restore it to its original glory, but I cant if I do not know what it used to look like. linanavalia@rocketmail.com I love cannondales!!

Equipped with road tyres and homemade aerobars this one moves fast on the road. Since I rarely head for heavy terrain I also removed the front shifter and any other useless weight. Oct 2012: A ot of changes were made. In fact everything except the rear derailleur and the brakes were replaced. Due to the stiff frame it's as aggressive as a racing bike. The ceramic wheels gave me some headache, though. The only brake pads for this type of rims cost around 25$ a piece! But they feel like...
