My 2nd M500. Built in 1999 too, but Iris Blue. My former girlfriend had the same with some different parts. Someday I changed the tires into Conti Vertical Pro 2.35. The best all mountain tires I ever had...
In 2003 it became a hardtail with a 80 mm travel Magura Vidar. One year later a friend of mine and I planned a 1-week trip, so I converted it to a durable multi-surface tourer with the following specs:

I purchased this bike new in October, 1990. It was originally a Chameleon. The frame was warrantied in 1998. The replacement frame is a 1997 CAD 2. British Columbia is unkind to mountain bikes. The only remaining original components are the handlebars, front Suntour XCD derailleur & shifter and the Pepperoni forks.
