Full Sante Groupo, Bontrager R1 Saddle, Shimano 540 (SPD) Pedals, Conti Gatorskins (700x23)
Bought this for my 31 year old daughter who wanted a full suspension MTB for cheap. Mint. European model bought off of a German fellow who worked for GM here in Michigan and was moving back to Germany. He told me the bike has been through the Alps when new.

I raced on Cannondales (F800 then F700) when I was between 12 and 18. Stopped in 2005 for studies, I bought that F5000sl in August 2009. A dream bike now in my garage. I rode it almost daily, doing 300 km per week with it. The good days coming back, I took it for a ride 2 years ago, to go over the 2000km on the odo, but the frame cracked. Repaired and in use again for the past couple of years. Some components have been upgraded (XTR transmission, new tires and so on) but next year I will...

I bought this bike new in 1988 from Caps cycle in Vancouver BC Canada. I rode it a lot off road on the old UBC Endowment Lands, and as a regular commuter. When I moved to Japan in 1990, this bike was one of the very few things I kept and took with me. Now, twenty two years later I'm still in Japan and I still have the bike. I just finished restoring it, it was in BAD shape, I'd not ridden it in maybe 5 or 6 years. I completely stripped the frame down and repainted it, I also bought a bunch...
Well this bike is actually a clone, but you couldn't tell the difference! I fell in love with the Black Lightning and I just had to have one, or something close, and I know that I don't have all the old Black SunTour equipment or have it all blacked out but its still a good clone as far as they come. I got the decals right off of this site!

Was orange, now a lovely shade of neon green. Powder coated frame and forks. Surly singlespeed hub, shimano BMX freewheel, 18-36 gearing, all unneeded frame tabs removed. I forget the brand names of all of the parts changed but the only things left from stock after singulating are the frame, forks and brakes.... and the brakes will be upgraded next. This is my second C'Dale. My first was a 1991 M500 that I bent on a halfpipe. I hated this bike untill I singled it, now I adore it.
