I bought the bike for around 500.00 in 1993 from a shop in Indianapolis called Bicycle Gargage Indy. The bike has been a joy to ride, made a upgrade on the shifters and new wheels. Hard to buy a new bike when this one still works great.

This is my 2002 Black Lightning. I bought it via ebay in late 2008, have been racing / training on it as my primary bike since then. I'm a Campy fan, love the special edition stuff, and the Neutron wheels are great, they are tough and light and I've won races with them. I honestly don't know much about the history of this bike - when C'dale released this model, I was not active in the sport so I'd never heard of it till I saw the ebay listing. Hey Guys, Just wanted to share my latest build with you and to say thanks for answering my questions over the last several months while building this bike. I have learned so much just by building this bike. Building a WW bike is definitely a great challenge! This bike is a rocket! It accelerates like my road-bike but can take on the rough stuff with no problems! While some parts are a bit controversial (nobu shifters), I do not race and will just use the bike for cross training rides...

I bought this bike new in 1987 when I was 18. It was white with pink graphics. I loved it despite all the demands to \"give [my] sister her bike back!\" ;) Years of abuse, to include time at sea aboard a Coast Guard cutter, compelled me to have it repainted in 1993. I was young and short on cash. So I could only afford a deal on paint that wasn't selling well. Orange SuperV700 Frame, since I bought it upgraded with new rockshox front suspension, took of the headshok suspension and new fox air rear suspension instead of the original springsuspension. All components are Shimano XT/XTR. New front stem, DH handlebar, Mavic Crossmax/Crosslink wheels. I just love this bike :)

custom built with 950 Shimano XT, Syncros and some Coda parts. Plus first serie's CrossMax wheels...as I've been riding them in the 90ies :-)

My bike is still a working progress, she spent a few years on the hook because I let work get in the way. But now I am proud to say that she is now back in full active duty. Anyway upgrades are 2004 manitou minute one shock, sunrims rino lites, hayes dics brakes/ upgraded all cables to mcguire and aztec, new stem and headset various others. I am now in the process of making her an 8 speed. Also if any one out there has a n xtr rear cantilever brake I am in need wlawson25@yahoo.ca.
