I would add that you shouldn't expect to add to the resale value of the bike by repainting it.

I don't think a bike has to have a perfect finish to be desirable, in fact I prefer some flaws just so I don't have to worry about riding a bike while maintaining a perfect paint job. You might have a look at the catalogs. Perhaps there is a paint scheme from the same year that you like...

I'm just happy that you got the cones that you needed. I searched a bunch of Shimano front hub parts lists, and there aren't many that have the same cone OD. The 600EX cones are the same 10.4 mm OD, but have a different part number.

Looks like a lot of mods made by the various teams, including one with a totally different body. I didn't see any cars that were not Trojan built, so apparently the model was strictly a customer car.

I wouldn't have thought anyone would have a listing for 20+ used hubs of the same model. Sounds like someone sent you the wrong part. Perhaps the seller had a used one listed and mixed the orders up. What are you hearing from the seller?
