'Best' years for vintage Cannondale touring bikes?

Looking back at the photos, it appears that you bought the 1994 T1000. That bike should have been 7 speed Shimano and should have had a cassette hub. Perhaps post photos of all the parts and we can figure out what you have.

'Best' years for vintage Cannondale touring bikes?

Gripshift for SunTour is probably going to be hard to find. I have a few sets for Shimano 7 speed. I'm not sure I have 7 speed SunTour MTB shifters but I'm sure I have 6 speed. SunTour made 7 speed freewheels with 30 or 32 large cogs. There's a NOS with a 32 on eBay if you want to spend...

Cannondale M2000 (maybe) frame and forks

That's an 18" 1992 3.0 frame, could be M700, M1000, or M2000. It has been stripped and polished but it looks like the finish hasn't been maintained. I would just check eBay and see what 3.0 framesets in similar condition have been selling for. UK or New Hampshire?

    1994-ish Super V....?

I'd guess you are right on the year, though it could be a 1995. 1995 was the first year for polished frame, but that model came with a carbon swingarm. Force 40 brake cable routing is another reason in favor of 1994. Guessing someone stripped and polished a painted frame. Check the serial...

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

Since you mentioned the earliest Headshok, here's my 1992 Delta V 900. Built up ten or twelve years ago from a frameset I found on eBay.

    New F600 project

Would a smaller big ring give you enough clearance? I have no idea what options exist for modern cranks. How much room do you need? I'm assuming the crank takes a Shimano external cup bottom bracket. You could have the left side shell faced by a couple of mms and use a spacer under the...

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

Klein had the first press fit bottom bracket that I know of, but I'm not a fan as it greatly limited what you could do if you wanted to change cranks. If I wanted to put a Campagnolo crank in my Aeolus (which I probably would have liked to do when I built it up), It might require a custom...

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

I don't remember the details but I think there was some legal back and forth between the two companies regarding who had rights to details about the manufacturing process. I'm just guessing but I'd think Cannondale sold a lot more bikes.

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

I call it flip-flop, because it looks like one color in one light and a second in different light. Cannondale used it, but I don't think on as many bikes as Klein. I have one Cannondale with it - the 1998 R4000 in Kameleon Fire. Fades are different as that refers to two solid colors, one...

Several parts are needed, as well as assistance in determining the type of damper in Headshok Ultra.

I don't know the answers to your questions. Craig at Mendon Cyclesmith would. I'm wondering if the scratches could be polished out - maybe with some fine sandpaper with it spinning in a lathe.

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

Now that aluminum is out of fashion I should pay more attention to Klein listings. Perhaps there's a bargain out there somewhere for me. I looked up the color of my Klein and it's called sea and sky, which describes it well.

    Hello from central Arizona

Jekyll was made for 5 years or so originally in the early 2000s. Then was missing from the lineup for a few years until brought back for the 2011 model year. Yes, the 3 was third in the Jekyll line that year. The 1 and 2 had carbon frames and higher end components.

    1990 SH600 - What is it worth?

Brake pads look like they have minimal wear but they could be super hard, being 35 years old. You could try scuffing them with a coarse file or sandpaper. I wouldn't think it would be hard to find something to replace them. Universal Cycles has 5 brands of aftermarket cantilever brake pads...

'Best' years for vintage Cannondale touring bikes?

There are several 7 speed 12-32 cassettes available at Universal Cycles: Dimension, Shimano, SRAM. SunRace has a 12-34. Your current rear derailleur might have enough capacity. Look for a model number, stamped on the back side of the inner parallelogram on most Shimano RDs...

    Hello from central Arizona

Did you get the fork? It seems like a lot of the re-introduced Jekylls (2011 up) came with Fox forks. I think your frame might be a 2012 Jekyll 3. It's hard to read the catalog scan but I think the bike came with Shimano SLX and a triple crank. I have NOS SLX 10 speed shifters and...

    R800 to Cafe Racer!

Re Klein: I have an Aeolus that has a beautiful green/blue flip flop paint job. It was made after Trek bought the company but the bikes were still made in Chehalis at the time. I think my bike might be a 1995 but I don't have the catalogs handy. As to the clear coat, I'd agree. I had a CAAD9...
