    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

I was mistaken about year and model. It's a 1988 ST700. The two bikes are nearly identical but perhaps you won't want the older style top tube logo. I still haven't been to where it's stored to measure it but found an old photo on the computer. Taken in low light so it's not very good. As...

Yep , another what is it ?

I don't think yours is a 700, unless they changed the details over the course of the years it was built. Some better 700 detail photos here...

Yep , another what is it ?

Most of the Principias that I have seen do not have ground and finished welds, but it appears that the welds are finished in those catalog pages. It doesn't appear that the catalog bikes have replaceable hangers, but some Principias did have them. Pilo models that were used were D50, D87...

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

There were three bikes in the Campagnolo equipped Heritage Series that year: The Record equipped Columbus Airplane aluminum Team bike, and the two Columbus Zona steel bikes, the Professional with Chorus and the International with Centaur. Here's a Team frame on eBay. I'd like to have it but...

fresh find: 1996 Cannondale m200le (ladies)

Welcome. Definitely look into adjusting your brakes. Look at some YouTube videos. There are probably good tips at Park Tool and Sheldon Brown's sites.

That's a long time with no bike. Here's my steel 2002 Raleigh Professional.

Yep , another what is it ?

I've never seen a number like that on a Cannondale. I'm thinking your frame must have been made by another builder. Not many aluminum builders ground and finished welds. Klein was one but I don't have much knowledge of the early ones. I would try to find good pictures of early Kleins and see...

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

I would have guessed that they made Raleighs in Nottingham much later than the early 70s, but perhaps only the high end ones. The company history could probably make for a pretty thick book. The wiki article explains the use of the Raleigh name for the USA made frames which started in 1982...

    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

When I marked the value down to $50, the duties were reduced to $151. Still seems very excessive. I assume that if shipping damage occurred, the claim would be limited to $50.

    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

It's even worse than I would have guessed. I'm getting $269 shipping cost plus $317 for import duties. I may have overestimated the box size and/or weight but those values are never know for certain until the package is ready to ship.

    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

I wasn't sure about international shipping via bikeflights. Give me a postal code and I'll look into it.

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

I got to thinking that Raleigh may have made frames in the USA during the Technium era. I have a Technium, will have to dig it out and see if it's listed on the frame.

    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

Bike is not at home and I couldn't find a photo on my computer. I will have to get to where it is and get it cleaned up to take some decent photos. Remind me if I don't get it done. Might be worth checking shipping cost in the mean time. Guessing FedEx or DHL will be very expensive to ship a...

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

I should have mentioned that Cannondale was one of the very few large scale manufacturers whose frames were made in the USA. The only other company I can think of that made a lot of frames in the USA was Trek, but a lot of their lower end frames came from Taiwan. Cannondales were produced in...

    WANTED: ST400, ST600, ST700, ST800 or ST1000 Touring Bike

    I have a 1990 ST600. It's pretty much stock, in good condition. Believe that it's a 23" but might be a 21".

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

Cannondale started out in the bike business selling trailers and bags for tourists. The first bikes were made in 1983. The company has sponsored a number of pro and amateur teams, the best known being the Saeco - Cannondale road and Volvo - Cannondale mountain bike teams. I would guess that...

Welcome. That's a nice selection. CAAD5 with SR might be hard to improve on, but since you have such a good start you will have to find an example of each of the CAAD road frames.

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

Generally speaking, the built bikes came as described in the catalogs, with paint specific to given models. There were sometimes substitutions of a part here and there. Cannondale did sell framesets most years, so any dealer could order a frame and build it any way the customer wanted. It...
