Oldest dealer in my are has a box full of miscellaneous studs, said I was welcome to come sort through them. Happy to do that if I get to the area but the shop is 55 miles away in a town that I haven't been to in 15 years or more.

I did run a die over an M8 thread to see what it looked like. First three threads were pretty much intact, fourth was cut down somewhat, and fifth was cut pretty much down the center. I will try to get some M8 bosses and see how they turn out. I can swap them to one of my frames if it works...

That may be an ST400 but it's hard to tell much from the low resolution pictures. I can't see how bad the paint is but black is fairly easy to touch up with a brush and make look presentable. I have sanded, masked, and spray painted single tubes that had more damage.

I've seen similar paint before but not sure if I've seen it on an F series frame. About all I can add is that CAAD3 was used on F900s and lower in 1998. F1000 and above were CAAD4.

Easiest is probably to measure the wheelbase: centerline of front hub to centerline of rear hub with someone holding front wheel straight ahead. That said, the size may be stamped in the BB shell.
