You would have to have a same size and year 2.8 and 3.0 to compare. I have older 3.0 frames but not a '95. I think you're right about the 2.8 decal being non-existent on the MTB frames. I am not seeing one on my 1995 M900, but my '95 Silk Road frame has one - why I assumed the MTBs had them...

Those printed ones may be the only thing available these days. A long time Cannondale dealer might have some originals. I have a dealer about 50 miles away who still has some old parts.

Pretty sure it's an 8-32 with a .25" thread length. Original ones had a Philips head but a button head hex drive will work.

I like the color. It would be nice to add a fourth 1987 road frame to the cache and a different color. The Alpha 3000 stuff would have to go.

Interesting frame as it doesn't appear to have a 2.8 series decal or a CAAD decal. I don't know how the two differed. I have a 1995 M900 but that's my newest MTB frame other than a couple of Super Vs.

That's a lot more maps than I would have guessed. Of course they have a lot more routes than in 1976. I'd guess a lot of folks ride the ACA routes who don't use printed maps at all.

I know that touring got a boost from the Bicentennial. Perhaps the Semiquincentennial will inspire some folks to take to the roads on bicycles.

Nice work. If I didn't already have several 2.8 frames I'd be interested. I also have an MX Leader that belonged to a teammate of Axle Merckx. Same colors but red is on top and blue on the bottom.

Your list reflects my experience in that the early touring bikes seem to be much more common. I wonder why.
