    Headset replacement...

My '97 T900 has a Tange-Seiki SE-II headset that is pretty seriously 'indexed'/notched (with the wheel/stem/bars on it's really just the significant straight-ahead index I feel, but with them off it all feels pretty notchy & grindy)... I know one can get a bit more life out of an indexed headset...

    Hub cones

In disassembling my front hub to regrease (probably should've done as soon as I bought the bike, but they seemed to be turning well) I see some pitting on the cones (not to mention one side was short a ball bearing....). The cups look OK. Of course direct replacements for the cones are no longer...

braze-on boss (mid-fork) & bottle cage boss questions...

Are the touring fork mid/lowrider bosses threaded for screws, or just a straight through tube for a bolt? They're too large for an M5 screw, and seem too small for what I think is an M6 (but I'm not 100% sure). Also- are the bottle cage bosses some kind of insert pressed into the aluminum...

I know I can get new, aluminum guides with the rivets through this site, and there are 3D printer versions out there, too. I have all the guides on my new-to-me old T900, but most have the pins...

    New/old Cannondale tourer

Hi All. I just picked up a '97 T900, overall good shape, everything seems to be working, needs a little bit of cleaning. I was an avid cyclist back in my 20s and had an ST600 ('90, I think....) that I absolutely loved. It ended up stolen in Toulouse when I was touring Europe on it. Life, career...

'Best' years for vintage Cannondale touring bikes?

Hi all. I had an ST600 in the early '90s that I absolutely loved. Everything about it just felt 'right' to me- unfortunately it was stolen in Toulouse, FR in (what was supposed to be...) the middle of a 3m tour in Europe. I moved to NYC when I returned from that trip and got out of biking for...
