Thanks for the quick reply. I had a feeling after narrowing everything down that it was a '98 but wasn't completely sure. Right now my problem is that the boot on the Headshok is in desperate need of replacement. I know I need the tool to remove the forks in order to change the boot but my shop has said that I either need to rebuild the shock or just replace the entire front fork.
Thanks for the membership been looking for something like this, fantastic site ! I own an M800 Beast from the East had it since new mid 90's
Hey man, would love to pick your brain about upgrading your Caad4! I have the same bike!
Did you find a spec sheet for this bike somewhere on the internet?
I'm planning on upgrading the whole drivetrain, it looks like you've done the same. Were there any issues with modern components fitting into the frame? Thinking about the cassette and wheels mostly.
Any other helpful advice?
Thanks!

New to riding. Got a Cannondale 3.0 SR600. Guy at the bike shop said it would beat the hell out of me. Wrong! I love it.
Owner of the 1996 F1000 CAD3 polished aluminum. 100% original, the way it was assembled and delivered. Even tires are still first set.
