WTB : 1987 Road bike SR 600

when I was 16 I bought a Cannondale SR600 in pink. I loved that bike and would love to find another one. Size 54 or 56. I have been looking but no luck finding a pink one. Any suggestions?

That was my first Cannondale road bike. I still have it but repainted it (with leftover dark red paint from my 1966 Oldsmobile) in the early 90s when the pink paint started to blister. I have a really nice 58 cm pink frameset that I plan to put back all original if I can ever locate all the right parts. Surprisingly the hardest part to find has been the Wolber T430 rims. They sold gobs of them but they seem to be hard to come by now.

It might be easier to recreate your bike than search for an original. Find a Crit frame in your size and have it stripped and repainted.

If I see a 54 or 56 I will be sure to let you know. I have to say that it's been 7 or 8 years since I saw one for sale in any size.

I agree. Find any 87 Road frame and re-paint it pink. If you find the paint code, let us know. All 87 frames are the same. The parts are what make it have the higher or lower numbers. Even if you find a original pink frame, it will probably need a re-paint.

True about the upper end of the 1987 road line, but the lower end models had different geometry. I didn't take the time to examine the charts, but I think the main difference is head tube angle. I'm guessing that everything else is the same.

Found this 54 in a dusty old shed in Perth Western Australia 2 months ago. Paid 50 for it.

That's newer than 1987, as it has the cantilever dropouts. Might be a 1990 SR300. Does it have SunTour Blaze components?
