If it has hourglass seat stays, I'd guess CAAD4. I think 1999 was the first year for them. CAAD3 was virtually the same except for straight stays.

has a few dents as shown and some paint loss and scrapes. not sure the top cap was used with this bike or not. the headset bearings feel good. the crank needs new grease. frame and all there weighs 3lbs 10oz. thanks for looking

and maybe no need because there are individual parts on frames, that only used incombination on singular models. but then it's more a riddle to identify the model

my guess is CAAD3 R500 after 2000.

CAAD3 coz of the straight seat stays. R500 coz the 1 1/8 ahead stem. R600 isn't possible, coz as far as i know they had threaded forks. and after year 2000, coz this bike has already other cable holders than in years before, when the shifters were installed at the down tube.

The picture of the underside looks like hourglass stays to me.

oh yes, you're right. didn't noticed it on that pic. so probably CAAD4, as you said.
