Tandem Rider

Hi everyone,

I bought a MT800 "new" from the local bike shop way back when and I guess like most bike shops with tandems they tend to sit around a while before they get sold. We call it the "Mountain Tandem", I know very original. It has never seen any off-road trails, maybe a dirt road. I found the owner manual and that got me thinking, what year did we get this and what year it was made. That's how I wound up here.

The MT bikes go back close to 30 years. We can probably figure out what you have given the serial number and some pics of the bike.

Thanks. Hard to make out the serial. Looks to me like:
KJ ?497 ? = something I can't make out.

KJ could be a 2000 model year bike. We really need to see the bike to get beyond the maybe stage.
