Super V2000

Hi

A little bit of context, I already own a Viper red F500, I bought it brand new and have had it for years, kept it mint and will never sell it, I also about a year ago purchased a black F700 frame, it had both brake disc caliper mounts and V brake mounts so I took the V brake mounts off and sanded it all down to bare aluminium, plan was to do a Volvo Blue replica.

This is now where things have changed, looking recently on Facebook I came across a Super V2000 in Blue, back when I bought my F500 I couldn't afford a Super V but have always liked them, went to go have a look, it's ratty, very ratty, made a cheap offer and the seller accepted.

That's the picture from the listing, I've already cut the cable lock off with an angle grinder and taken the mudguards off, the front suspension is Fatty SL and has a 4 or 5 position dial, the forks push down but don't come back up so they will need looking at, also the frame has corrosion under the paint near the bottle bosses and the headset bearing shells,

It has both disc brake mounts and v brakes mounts, currently it's on V brakes but you can see where it has had disc brakes fitted in the past, I'm undecided if I'm gonna delete the V brake mounts but I like the idea of getting rid and going disc, it'll also clean up the look of the frame if I get rid of the bosses, the frame will probably need sanding back and respraying, hopefully I can find a reproduction decal kit.

Looked up the serial number

Being "JL" as the build year it comes back as December 1998.

It's gonna need some work but should be a fun project, only thing that worries me is getting hold of parts as it's an old bike, guess a lot of Facebook and eBay searches will be in order to see what I can find.
