I am looking for an ST-1000 in size medium in any condition or color, complete or just the frame. Please email me with what you have and price. I have attached a representative pic of what I am looking for.

Would consider a T1000, ST600 or ST400 as well.

Thanks!
John

If you just want a frame, any ST (or later T) model will do, since the frames are the same between the different model levels. What specific years are you most interested in?
When you say medium; will a 23" frame due?

What is your pant inseam length?
Do you currently own a bike? If so what size is it (if it fits you well)?
I'm thinking you need a 23" frame. (58.42 cm)

I've got my eyes out. Do you need this bike for touring? There is a good condition Sport Touring Cannondale (1985-86?)for sale near me. The Sport Touring models have the touring frame geometry, but no cantilever brakes, and double cranks. Not really a good bike for expedition touring.
I'd be happy to help if you are interested.

That is nice but I was hoping for an early 90's model. I appreciate it though!

I have a SR-1000 for sale. It’s 56cm - 1988. Don’t know that it’d be great for touring but thought I’d put it into the mix. I’m 5’8” but have long legs.

ATLride55, I appreciate the offer but that does not fit my needs. I need touring geometry with bosses for front and rear panniers. I do appreciate it though!!

letsbike: that has been actually listed on eBay the last 3 weeks. Been watching it but I think the price is a bit off of the mark especially without the front and rear panniers. The biggest issue is that it is local pickup only and I am in Delaware. Thanks though!

Location is a big deal when looking for used bicycles. I think it is pricey too; I thought that I would post it as a reference point. I think that knowledgeable people want more money for their bikes, as compared to the people that have dredged it out of a basement or bought it at an estate sale.
Good luck in the hunt. You'll find it sooner or later.

That T2000 looks like a great deal.

I have a 1988 ST700 I could sell. It has caliper brakes and a cheaper build than the ST1000. I believe it's a 23" frame.

Thanks but I really need a frame set up specifically for front and rear panniers. I am planning a bike adventure.

The ST700 has the same rack mounts as the other touring models. For more braking power you could add a drum brake. Sturmey Archer even makes one that also has a dynamo.

If you are looking for a older bike to ride long distance, with a load, I would be looking towards the newer end of the spectrum. A 1990 model would have a 7-speed freewheel that would necessitate you either getting by on higher gearing and weaker wheels, or an expensive new set of wheels with cassette hub. the 2000 T2000 model shown above has a 9-speed cassette. I would look into the smallest front chainrings you can use on the front as well. I use a 26×36×46 set up with a 11-34 cassette. The 1995 model year is the first year with an 8-speed cassette. I've toured extensively with a 11-32 8-speed, they're quite satisfactory. If it were me, I'd stay 1995 or newer.
If you don't mind me asking; what are you planning? I have ridden all over the country and may have some insight for you.
As I said before. Happy hunting.

Yeah, I am looking for a Cannondale that runs full panniers front and rear, touring comfort geometry and full fenders that I can load down and do long distance bike treks. I am open to other options/models that fit the bill.
