New to cannondale

Hi
New to cannondale as I normally ride klein, orange or marin.

I have just bought a 2004 f800 frame and I think an older headshock fatty fork.
Can anyone help me with what else I need to put the fork onto this frame please.

The frame will need headset cups #QHDST/EBO pressed in. That part # includes the bearings, the lower bearing usually stays on the fork when it is removed, is it there under the boot? It should be pressed against the lower cap with the boot held in place on the lower cap with a cable tie like my pic. Tool #HDTL149 is used to drive everything into place like this:
a piece of 1.5 inch PVC pipe can also be used, but the proper tool fully engages both races of the bearing.

Hi.

Would I need a certain type of stem?
Most ahead type system have a star washer in the fork to take out play How's this done on the headshok system.
My fork has a serial number do you know what year etc

What is the loose o-ring for?

Yes, the stems are cannondale headshok specific, but they are still available at a Cannondale dealer, and there are always many rise, length and bar diameter options available on EBay.

It's held in by press fit. Once it's hammered in with the pipe tool, you're done. yours needs a bearing driven on the steerer tube first, that can be done with the pipe tool. Install the fork as shown in video. A seal then (#QSMSEAL) goes on top, then the stem.

The O ring is a bottom out bumper.

I can't tell you anything with the serial number. With the paint stripped off, It's hard to tell exactly which fork it is without pulling out the damper. I may be able to give you more information with pictures of the top and under the crown.

The fork was red and yellow as paint is still on fork legs.
Looks like a mc60 fork maybe.

Ok, It's not an MC60, which is good, that was just a cheap friction damper. You have an oil damped cartridge with lockout. You are missing a knob or lever that attaches to the hex on the top, that's your lockout knob. It's not an air sprung fork, and it looks like it has the tapered blades, so my initial guess is you have a Fatty D. It's an oil damped DD60 cartridge and is coil sprung with an MCU slug nested in the coil, 60mm of travel.
