Killer V frame - cantilever brake cable mount

Hi all

I have a Killer V frame - guessing it is a 1995 - that I built out last summer. I pieced it together with parts I had from other bikes. I've been having some rear brake problems - I put on a set of V-brakes [tektro quartz mt-15] - they are DEFINITELY not the right fit, but they work, more or less. I came across a set of Shimano Deore [BR-M737] cantilever brakes, which I believe are closer to the original equipment. Problem is, I don't have a cable holder/mount in the right spot to get these installed. See attached photos. I was hoping someone with a similar bike can take a few photos of their rear brakes so I can at least find what I need to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, @MEENI - so... it doesn't look like my frame has the bracket mount in the back, so do you think I should assume original equipment was V brakes? The front is definitely set up for cantilever in that it has the cable bracket at the stem. The problem I have is that the brake mount post is too long for the brakes I have on there, but the shimano cantilevers are a perfect fit. In looking through the gallery here, I see that at least one bike with cantilevers has the cable bracket up on the seat post clamp. Do you know of suck a deally?

That could be a option but i think the frame in the picture is not a KV
The last cable guide seems to be higher on the frame
Maybe you could fabricate a bracket by using the mounts for the rack

The 1995 rigid frames including the KVs had the Force 40 pivot that Meenie posted.
1996 frames used cantis and the seatpost clamp mounted guide. Brakes were typically Alivio or Coda. If your frame was made in 1995 it was most likely a 1996 model. Nashbar used to sell a simple guide that slipped over the seatpost binder bolt in the slot for the seatpost. I had a couple at one point but couldn't find any the last time I looked.

Are you sure thet the tektro,s are ok : spring?
In the first picture the levers look pretty close to eachother
Maybe loosen the bolts en set them back one step might help

I am positive they are wrong! The mounting posts on my frame are too long, that is what prompted me to swap in the cantilevers, they fit correctly.

Cannondale v brakes
Not the best but this one is ful original so did not make anny changes
The tektro,s should be ok, brand is good quality

Here is another mystery:

My serial/production numbers don't exactly match the patterns shown on the 'Serial Numbers' page here. They most closely match the 1993-1999 pattern, except on the top row, between the year and the sequence number, I have another number which I believe is B1-0302, any ideas on what that may mean?
