Hi,
Just bought a 1991 ST600 in ok shape. Paid $100. Good deal?
I have been riding a Schwinn Pathway for 2 years. Modified the seat, seatpost, the stem and headset, new bars, cables, etc. as I am 6.0ft On my second set of tires. I am 68. I ride Monday thru Friday mornings for 12-14 miles residential area in Cape Coral. Usually at 9.5 to 10 mph. Not fast, not far, but consistent.
I am having trouble looking up the Serial number and date of manufacture. Where is a good place to ask for help with this as I cannot seem to decipher what I am reading on the frame.

Thank you,
Kevin

Congratulations,
It's a good deal if you ask me. This is the best place I know of to help you decipher it. If you can post pictures of the numbers you are having trouble with I am sure the members here will help you.

Hi Johnny D,
Thank you for the response. I will post below what I have.
This is the best shots I can get. It looks like BI-0302 and 02105911760

Well first off let me say, very nice bike for $100! You don't see too many 30 year old bikes with the paint on the chainstays that nice.
OK now on to the serial # info. Your numbers match the second version of how they were stamped between 86-92. It is similar to how my '92 M700 is stamped (5210292XXXX ) I don't have my notebook with the exact serial number of my bike on me at the moment but I think you can
Your bike breaks down like this:
0 =130mm spacing on the rear dropout
21=frame size
0591= May of 91
All of this information is at the above link to serial numbers. It can seem a little bit confusing, especially since Cannondale changed formats and location of serial numbers on the frames over the years..
If i got anything wrong I am sure one of the other members will let you know. Brian or Black Lightening 1987 are pretty awesome moderators and a good source of knowledge..

Johnny has the serial number translation right. That's a really nice find especially at that price. You could probably get a good share of the purchase price on eBay just for the brakes. Does the bike still have the GripShift shifters? I've had a lot of them but never a set for SunTour. Currently have a set of GripShift on a 1992 Trek 5500, first of the OCLV road frames.
