Most of the early ones I've seen are commanding obscene prices....like $3K and more!
Earlier Cannondale made a track frameset. I think early to mid 1990s, at least as late as 1994. I've seen one or two for sale but don't remember the details. It took a quill stem and I doubt that it was drilled for a front brake.

Last one I saw was advertised at $2400. A beautiful Iceland Green 1994. Sold the next day.

Now that this thread has jogged my memory I do recall seeing an ad for one for sale. It was a red one. I don’t remember where I saw it for sale but it wasn’t a ridiculous in the thousands price. A couple of years ago I was looking at thousands of ads a month. That’s my excuse for not remembering where. It wasn’t a local ad and ebay doesn’t ring a bell either.
Looking at the catalogs, it appears that the original track frame design was last made in 1995. I believe it was also the last Cannondale with SunTour components. As far as I can tell, they didn't make another track bike until the 2003 CAAD5.

That is about what I've gathered as well. The bike in the pictures I posted is of a 2008 Capo. There is just something about the black and what colorway on that bike that I really like. The white bar tape would be a royal pain to keep clean though!
The geometry on the 2008-09 models are the same as the CAAD5 Optimo frames ,which I haven't checked buy is likely the same as the 2003-07 CAAD5's too.

I'm thinking that would be a pretty easy paint scheme to duplicate. The hard part would be landing a track frameset for a reasonable price.

I'm not sure that the yellow frame on eBay is actually a 1992 model. The first catalog to show a track frame was 1993. There were surely some built late in 1992 but for the 1993 model year. Serial number isn't shown or posted in the listing.
