That I am looking to restore. New paint, front shocks, derailers and brakes. Can anyone help me out with some suggestions or tips please?

I would 1st look for decals before you begin. Honestly, the paint looks ok. Have you looked at a good clean and polish? It is getting harder to find original bikes these days..

Thank you. I have found a guy that recommended a site for decals. The paint isn't terrible, and the bike is very sentimental, so definitely want to spruce up.

That looks like a 1990 SM400. Are the components SunTour XCM? Are you looking to restore it to original or make it fit your priorities?
I always hated the suntour system. that is a definite need for an upgrade. not looking to restore, more of an overall upgrade. front suspension and new paint or power coat.

If you're looking to go more extreme, take a look at the 1988 that I played with a few years ago. I painted it, but I recommend powder coating.

Where do i find pics of it?
Before you do a re-paint. I would have a plan. Decals etc... Powder coat is a great option, I have done that a most of my builds. However, if you want to do decals and a clear over, you have to think about that. Just look up powder coat in your area. or if you want paint, any auto body shop can do it. Figure out the plan before you begin. :)
