Hello from Ohio

I'm a big fan of old Cannondales. I have a 1999 F500 that I use to bike on the trails and streets of North East Ohio. Last year I put drop bars on it (I know people might not approve of this!) to see how that was and I have to say I really like it for what I ride it on. The roads around here are terrible from the hot/cold cycles of the seasons, so the headshok works really well to take the edge off the potholes and brick roads that are quite common around here.

Here it is. I bought the bike a few years ago and built it up with parts from my shed to see how I liked it. Turns out I liked it a lot so I ditched ancient drivetrain for a 1x10 Microshift AdventX setup. After riding it like that for about a year I decided to look into drop bars since the drivetrain is the same and you can just put the drop bar levers on there instead. I also put a dropper post on there which I've become very used to from mountain biking. It's pretty handy when things get steep on some of the off road exploring missions that I get up to with a group out of Akron.

Nice looking bike. I am interested in that type of shallow drop bars for my touring rig since I don't get down in the drops unless I have a strong headwind. I think that shape is pretty versatile if you aren't just out for speed. What brand and model are those?
What is your highest and lowest gear combinations?

The handlebar is a Ritchey "Comp Corralitos" in 50mm width. The shallow drop and slight flare are very comfortable.

I have a 36t chainring and the cassette is 11-48. There are some very steep hills in the area and this gives me a good amount of range.

The Advent X is a pretty nice setup. I love mine and the Advent 9 speed I have as well. I am considering picking up it's close 10 speed cousin, the Sword in 2x10 for a bike project. We'll see.
