Head tubes 29er Trail Models

I have a technical question regarding the head tube of the newer Cannondale Trail models 29er. I have a 29er Headshok fork with the usual 1.56" and am looking for a suitable frame. The F29 should fit the Headshok. But also the Trail models? Or do they all already have tapered head tube? Thanks for info

The 2012 catalog says that the Trail models have 1.5" head tubes. There's also a picture on page 83 of the 2014 catalog that shows a 1.5" head tube decal on the Trail SL1.

I believe that the inside diameter of the head tube bearing bore is the same but am not sure about the depth of the bore. The Trail frames use what I would term a semi-integrated headset having a cup to hold the lower bearing, while the Headshok frames have press fit bearings upper and lower with no cups. My guess is that the head tube is bored deeper on the Trail frames than it is on a Headshok frame, at least for the lower bearing. Not a great picture, but here is the Trail headset:

Perhaps contact the folks at Cannondalespares and see what they think.

If the lower bore is deeper on the Trail frames, you could probably have a ring machined to go behind the bearing and bring it out to where it needs to be for the Headshok fork.
