Hi, I was looking around for some information on a bike that I saw on eBay and stumbled upon this site. In any case, I'm a long time Cannondale owner. I was actually on their team when they first started one up in Connecticut (1983 time frame) and Glen Morrell was their team manager/captain. Although I don't have the bike they gave us, I still have a few. I posted the ones that are in my garage, not in my attic...haha.
In 1988 I met Gary Brown who had started a mountain bike team in Jupiter, FL called PPC Team Extreme...note the jersey. Actually, there are no mountains in south Florida but we did cut our own trails and we had our weekly urban assault. We got a deal on the M700 from Cannondale but it had some problems with the headset on the pepperoni fork. You can see how that was resolved. I also regularly ride my R800 (with a few Campy goodies on it) but just refuse to update with the newer Record equipment.
Other bikes:
Trek 8000 (first mountain bike with Joby Bark Busters...he'll know what those are)
Merlin Extra Light road
Merlin XLM mountain.
If anyone reading this was a member or hung out with PPC Team Extreme, please reach out.
Mike
