Not too often that a bike is original down to it's smallest parts. Other than an upgrade to an XTR V-brake and pedals, this looks to be all original. Grips, handlebar, Vetta SL saddle, shifters, etc:

Wow. That's well worth $500 shipped, I'd say. It's a 1993. The stock red anodized Coda brakes would be hard to find I'm sure. Catalog pic shows black chain rings, but Cannondales didn't always come exactly as pictured in the catalogs. Tires have likely been changed. IRC Mythos were what came on most Cannondale MTBs circa 1998.

The CODA brakes were re-badged Dia Compe 986. You can still find those new and used on eBay. In fact, I bought a set to restore the original CODAs on my Killer V (only used the hardware as the originals were rusted).

Speaking of brakes, I found this listing on eBay last night. The only anodized colors I remember being used on these bikes were silver, blue and purple:

I don't recall red other than the catalog pic.

Those purple ones would look great on my diamond black with violet hyper-highlight (purple) '95 M900.

The DV1500 that chumaman posted has purple cantis. Maybe they changed the spec after the catalog was printed.

Unfortunately I have the opportunity often find these bikes but I do not have any possibilities to adopt, but would gladly :(
Regarding the brakes themselves, my obsession with Magura HS is sufficient for all the bikes I own :p maybe and more :)

somebody got a good deal, in great shape and with Mag brakes. I have one of these I am ready to sell, and 19".. When you ready we can work something out. It is located in California though. :)
