CAAD8 identification

Hi! I would like some help in correctly identifying my Cannondale please. Would anyone here be able to tell me the age of my bike, and anything else, from the image attached?
I have had the bike from new, which i think was in 2011, but i've not been able to find anything from the frame number, so...
The bike was originally clean aluminium, no paint, loverly it was, but a sorta unsightly worm settled into the aluminium and i sent the bike back under warranty. It came back to me painted all black and with CAAD9 stickers (it's a CAAD8). But if there was a bar code on the frame before there was not one now. So, all i have is what is shown in the image
I think the frame number reads: 6IRH8T 56 4S745QI04918

Figure the frame size is correct, but I would need to measure for sure

Measured from the top of the seat post to the centre of the bottom bracket and that was 57cm. Hum…

I really don't see Cannondale taking the time and effort to paint your original frame when they could just ship you a replacement. That's how they do things.
Do you remember when the return occurred? Is that the original fork? Did the bike shop do the work in reinstalling all the components?

I'm thinking that you have a factory frame warranty bike.
(I own one too)

That fork was used on about every road bike in 2005, and the higher end bicycles in 2006. There is a "Raw", or unfinished model in 2006. Could you list the original drivetrain parts? The 2006 R5000 in Raw color was a Dura Ace equipped bike with a FSA crank. I can't see you upgrading that.

My best guess is that you turned in your 2006 model under warranty and they shipped you a 2010 CAAD9 to replace it. That was the last year of USA production, like it shows on your seat stays. There were two bicycles that shared that color (Jet Black), but they shared the same frame, so your bicycle doesn't have a model name. It's just a 2010 CAAD9, with a 2006 fork. But that is a interesting story to go with the bike.

Yeah, not going to argue with your view . For some reason I’ve been thinking I had a 2011 bike. But I’ve just been looking at 2006 bikes and the specs and language sound right for my bike, maybe I’m older than i think . I do wish I had the raw aluminium frame though, é vida. I do know now I got a good frame, be that an 8 or a 9, as well and it’s, to me, well worth the investment of new parts. Can’t thank you enough for your help . And, yes, I will upload some pics come the day it hits the road again .

Here is a heavily modified 2006 R1000 that I almost bought a few weeks back. It had been returned to a shop because of poor paint quality issues and finally had been thrown away when the shop owner got tired of looking at it hanging in the basement. This would have been a Ultegra equipped bicycle in the U.S.
I decided to pass on it because the top tube was an inch longer than was comfortable for me.

I think that this is more realistic. Most people buy the bicycles that are moderately priced.

I'm still not sure where you live, but after taking a real good look in all the catalogs, 2010 is the only year of that outlined Cannondale graphic like the one used on your black CAAD9. Here is a picture out of the European catalog.

Hiya! It’s all 105 apart from the rear derailleur, which is Ultegra. I’ve never upgraded and it all still works sooooo well

Yeah, figure this is it, the R800 sure rings a loud bell. Got it in the uk. It seems then that I sent a CAAD8 frame away under warranty and got back a CAAD9 with the same running gear. You figure

I'd agree that Cannondale sent you a current CAAD9 to replace your CAAD8.

in my opinion it's a caad 9 too. there are some differences to a CAAD8 frame to identify it as a 9er. i'm looking by myself for a CAAD9 in white with red decals since some time and so i've seen some of those black CAAD9 with this 'premium'-fork at 'kleinanzeigen'.
