CAAD3 MTB - size recommandation

Hi,

I‘ve got an offer to buy a CAAD3 MTB in size L (18 inch seattube (c-t)). I‘m 6 foot.

It would take some time to get there and do a test ride. So, I just need a first estimate, if size L is a good ballpark to start with or do I need a size XL anyway? From the pictures, the bike looks pretty small to me. But that would my first MTB, I‘m only familiar with road geometry.

Page 94 shows the geometry chart:

Thanks

While I don't have own any 1999 CAAD 3 frames. I'd suggest that you go with the Large. I am 6ft and both of my Jekyll's(2001 and 2004) are XL frames and the stand over height is(center of top tube) pretty close to the same measurements as the 20" frames(XL) from "99 CAAD 3 frames. While I am able to ride the bikes comfortably, the stand over height is a bit too close. I should be riding a Large in my opinion.

What is your saddle height on your road bike? I am about 6' tall but ride with an unusually high saddle position for my height. I have a 1999 F900 in XL size. Saddle top to center of bottom bracket spindle is about 82 cm. My guess is that a large is a good starting point for most 6 footers.
