Barrel Adjuster Options

I have these downtube barrel adjusters on my T2000 and they are corroded as the previous owner didn't ride the bike but had it hanging in the garage. It is the only issue it has. Now, I wanted to replace them but have no luck finding stock replacements. I was wondering if there is another style/brand I can use or if inline adjusters would be better. If so, is there a brand of inline that would be best?

Thanks for the help as always!
John

It would be easier if your picture included how these parts were mounted on the bicycle, but here are a few off the Performance Bicycle website. I prefer the Shimano type with the wing adjustment lever, although once adjusted correctly I can't say that I ever need to do anything else with the derailleur, and if I do it's at the derailleur's barrel adjustment. Downtube barrel adjustment is supposed to let you fine tune on the fly. To each their own.

This is what I mean. The catalog shows the first picture as being a 2000 model year. The second picture is of my 2001 model. I don't use any adjustable ferrule at that point. I use the one at the derailleur. In my opinion trying to adjust a derailleur while riding is a recipe for disaster, and once corrosion sets in they're pretty useless anyway.

Letsbike: I understand what you are saying about the 2001 not having them and I have thought about that too. I know the rear derailleur has an adjuster located directly on it but what about the front derailleur since it does not? I would like to do away with both if I could
