1989 sr……??

Not used for over 20 years
Bought it from second owner
Frame is made in 89 but i can not realy match it with a model in the catalog form 89 or 90
Gold decals could make it a black lightning frame but?
It has a stronglight headset that seems to be original and a alu fork
The campa parts are likely added later.
maybe frameset ??

I can't remember about 1989 but earlier Black Lightnings had a model name decal on the drive side chainstay. My guess is that it's a Euro model that we don't have a catalog description for, or a frameset. Since it has the AL fork, it would have been SR600 or above if it was sold as a complete bike. The rear derailleur is definitely much newer. The group names first appeared on Campagnolo components in 1995.

It looks like you have the 8 speed shifters with the little cable adjuster. Those are quite nice and fairly desirable. The cheapest pair on eBay right now are $100.

I know,
The brake levers with the original rubber hoods are also pretty rare (here in europe)
Pictures of the bicycle were not so good so that was more a surprise when i picked it up

The monoplaner calipers are also sought after. There were several models. I couldn't tell what you have but they started out as Chorus, later versions were Veloce and Mirage. I don't remember if there was an Athena version.

Yes ,
I like the way it looks, i will brake it down in the last week of my holiday and clean it up.
Needs a bit of tlc
There is a small dent near the shifter that i want to remove by filling it up
I,m glad it is plain black so touchup is not so hard to do
