1988 st400

Found this yesterday in my home town
First owner rebuild it for timetrail
It,s not in excelent condition but defenetly not as bad as my black lightning
Not sure yet what to do with it.

Those make nice gravel bikes even though limited to caliper brakes.

I have a set of wolber/xt wheels from a h800
Wil try to fit them

Seems to me a tire in the 32-35 mm range will fit. I will try to remember to check what's on my ST500.

I have 32 mm CX tubulars on this ST. Front is a Vittoria and rear is a Challenge Fango.

Plenty of clearance with the 600EX calipers that came with the bike.

The front photo gives a better picture of sidewall clearance. Rear clearance is comparable but I didn't get the right angle for the photo. Plenty of clearance for a tire of larger diameter. I think Challenge 34s would clear, and probably Kenda 35 clinchers would clear as well.
