    1990 ST600 w/ 27” frame (right?)

Cool bike! Yours has an October 1989 production date. Here is my ST600 with a June 1990 production date. Interestingly, yours has the crowned fork. Mine has a unicrown fork, which the catalog says it not available until 1992. Both our bikes are Inferno Red, which was a 1990 only color.

https://www.facebook.com/share/aNybxmzjMCgnaPq6/?mibextid=79PoIi Here is another tourer for sale in central Illinois. This one is an ST400 and is listed for $250. Possibly a 1996. Smaller size frame, can’t tell if it’s a 19” or 21”.

    1990 ST600

I purchased this bike in 2023. It was in excellent condition. All original, but completely rebuilt, greased, and all new maintenance items. The owner said he bought it from the local Cannondale dealership in 2020. I’m not sure where the bike was from 1990 to 2020, but it looks like it was not...

I believe way more racing models were sold than touring models. I looked for a clean one for 5 years before I found mine. They are out there, but definitely not common.

    New front rack for ST600

Yeah it’s a mystery to me too. I could never figure out the problem. The bike rode and handled great otherwise, but the bars were “insta-flop” when you let go. You could lift the bike off the ground, and the bars would flop right away also. I wondered if it had something to do with the...

    New front rack for ST600

It’s a Racktime Topit 2.0. Great fit and finish, feels like a real quality piece of gear. I wasn’t sure how it would work with my cantis, but they clear the bracket just enough to not be an issue. I haven’t tried it loaded yet, so we’ll have to wait for the results on that. My next overnighter...

That ST1000 is beautiful! I love the color. I considered buying this ST800 a few years ago. That’s the highest model number I’ve seen. I’ve got an ST600 now.

Thanks! I’d been looking at the different versions of the Cyclone RD and couldn’t find which one it was. You are right, it’s a Sprint!

Thanks! I took it for a short spin around the neighborhood yesterday and everything seems good. I’m heading out now for the first “official” ride. It is ready to ride, but of course I’ll end up spending $350 on pedals, saddle, tires, and grip wrap. LOL

I’ve got some more photos now, but just realized I’ll have to resize them. The forum is saying they are too big. Quick question… I’m not at all familiar with Suntour. The crankset is Superbe Pro. The chainrings are a kind of coppery color. Is that normal? The bike has been maintained...

It’s a 1985 SR500. The owner had it repainted from plum to white. I’ll get some more photos up later. It’s a nice one!

I definitely will! This bike looks super clean and well maintained, I’m excited to put some miles on it! I have a 90 ST600 and a 93 M700, so this SR will complete my trifecta!

Awesome, thanks! That may very well be it. I hadn’t considered the 400 series. I’ll get the serial number tonight to verify.
