Scored a Park Tool repair stand this week!

Oh, I told the guy at the local bike shop about my steal of a deal, and he had to show off their new acquisition - two of the Park PRS-30 Mechanical Lift repair stands. They have been dealing with more e-bikes, so they needed heavy-duty hardware. The PRS-30 has a capacity of up to 120 lbs, and...

Scored a Park Tool repair stand this week!

I did discover one thing - the seller didn't have a lot of patience. I downloaded the user's manual for the PCS-10, and discovered that the plastic leg clip was put on at the top of the stand, rather than at the bottom where it should be. I had to take the clamp off to swap it around. It folds...

    Another Project/Craislist Wichita Falls, TX.

Geez, where are people getting these long legs? I feel cheated - when I bought my first "bike shop" bike, a Trek 400, the shop guy measured me with his FitKit and said I had the torso length of a guy 6' 2" and the leg length of someone 5' 8".

Ah, okay. I thought it might be close to you, Johnny. It's about four hours drive for me, so not really worth it. The search for a "putter around the neighborhhood" bike continues....

Looks to be a 1996 F700 in Speed Yellow with a Headshok from a different model (Mango in color). It actually looks okay that way, IMO. The 1996 did come with Headshok, so it's period-correct. https://wichitafalls.craigslist.org/bik/d/henrietta-mid-1990s-cannondale-caad3/7930937628.html

Scored a Park Tool repair stand this week!

I'd been looking for a repair stand for a while - not seriously, but keeping an eye out on Craigslist and so on. There was a very cheap no-name one on Craigslist not too far from here, but I didn't feel like driving the 45 minutes or so to get to the seller. Then, lo and behold, someone posted...

So tempted by this - M500 "for parts"

Well, now, there is *this one* on Craigslist Tulsa: https://tulsa.craigslist.org/bik/d/tulsa-cannondale-super-six-like-new-and/7929838300.html

So tempted by this - M500 "for parts"

Doesn't matter anyway. Looked again the other day and the post was gone, so I assume somene else couldn't resist that price. I'm not broken up about it. ;-)

So tempted by this - M500 "for parts"

Posted on Craigslist here in Tulsa area. For $40, I'm tempted to pick it up for a future project. https://tulsa.craigslist.org/bop/d/vera-cannondale-m500-parts-bike/7929847473.html

Joe Montgomery, co-founder of Cannondale died January 2026

I could have sworn I posted this a couple of weeks ago, but maybe I spaced out and didn't.... Ah well.

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

Latest, plus a picture. I pushed a bit much week before last - five sessions, three of one hour 15 minutes, one of 30 minutes and one of 45 minutes (the last two on Saturday), in mostly 39x14. I felt really bad after that, backed it down to 45 minutes on the Monday and Tuesday of the next week...

    Ebay: 2016 Jekyll frame

I get this. Preying upon the unwary/unaware is not good at all.

    Ebay: 2016 Jekyll frame

No surprise. There are two very vintage (early 90s) Cannondales for sale on Tulsa Craigslist that have been there for months, with unreasonable prices. Ain't nobody gonna pay $1,000 for an early R900 or $1,500 for a Super V (no matter that it's allegedly only been ridden 20 miles since the...

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

Update: Finally worked up to one hour, ten minutes on the trainer. Felt okay on Monday, but Tuesday was torture. I felt an ache in my right hamstring just above the knee, but it never got worse. Rest day yesterday, tried to make sure I was hydrating. I felt okay, but didn't sleep well last...

Bottom Bracket BB 1988 SM 600

Do remember to take care of yourself, as well as your patients and your loved one at home. Mojo's advice above is sound. If the Sugino BB is too far gone, the BB-UN300 is pretty common and relatively inexpensive. It also can use several different axle widths, so you can find a length that's...

To repaint or not too repaint.

Wasn't "spatter fade" a thing with Cannondale for a while? I recall seeing an early frame (I think it was in one of the "Craigslist find" posts I made) that had a Raceberry "fizz fade" to Rocket Silver that looked like carbonated-soda bubbles.... The red is nice - red is fast, remember ;-) but...

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

I have the blood oxygen and heartrate covered with the Apple Watch. I'll probably get a chest strap monitor sometime. Been dealing with some other RL stuff lately. I hate plumbing... I wish. I don't know if it's my legs not catching up with my heart and lungs or if I'm just not pushing hard...

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

No joy on the Kickr Snap. Exchanged texts with the seller. He seemed amenable, but then Tuesday night the post on Craigslist disappeared, so I assume he sold it locally. I'm not upset; it just makes more sense that way. *Then* (I should never look at Craigslist ever again) I saw someone over in...

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

Email computer situation resolved. I did buy a base model Mac Mini with the M4 Apple Silicon system-on-a-chip. Works well enough for what I use it for. I found a cheap ($75) Wahoo Kickr Snap wheel-on trainer on Craigslist; I've had contact with the seller. Only problem is, it is in Allen, TX...
