    Cannondale M600

I agree. You couldn't buy anything close to comparable new for 300€, and the original poster's bike looks to have only been ridden a few times. Great that you found a NOS example. I really like that era of Cannondale MTBs.

New Old Stock (NOS) Cannondale Force 40

Going pretty steady it seems. Wondering if I should snag a pair just to have on hand.

    Wanted 56 cannondale 3.0

I think the only 56 cm frame I have is a Helen's Cycles team CAAD5. The closest I have to what you want is a 1988 SR800, the first year for Ultegra. Unfortunately it's a 54 cm and not a very good restoration project as it's completely original and in very nice shape. I'll keep an eye out for...

    Bearings for my 1996 T1000

So the axle is a larger diameter in the space between the bearings? I can see that preventing excess preload on the bearings but 1 mm gap seems excessive. Perhaps the intention was that the bearings would have enough press fit that the shell couldn't move side to side on the bearings. You...

    Bearings for my 1996 T1000

Is this the hub? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cannondale-Coda-700-Vorderrad-Nabe-32-Loch-9mm-Achse-m-Schnellspanner/183790669408?hash=item2acac70e60:g:WN8AAOSwbUJcnY5r I'm not acquainted with that hub but it looks to have a conventional steel threaded axle. I can't see what would prevent you from...

    2007 Cannondale Six13 Team 2 54cm - Cassette and Chain Info Needed

What is the intended use of the wrenches? The Park that you linked is intended for servicing hub bearings. The recent Cannondale catalogs oddly don't list what cassettes were supplied. I couldn't find a new or used 12-30 HG500 cassette for sale, so I'm guessing that the Blue Book got it...

    2007 Cannondale Six13 Team 2 54cm - Cassette and Chain Info Needed

The Amazon cassette is what came on your bike except for large cog size. You can use any Shimano 10 speed cassette of roughly the same ratio. You can get a Tiagra 11-25 for $36 at Universal Cycles: https://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=76002&category=359 That's the...

    1991 SE1000

Me too. I'd love to sell some bikes to people that would keep them in good shape but it seems that most folks lack the skills or motivation. I sold the second Cannondale I owned to a guy who didn't have a clue about keeping it nice. I ended up buying it back but was amazed how much he damaged...

That looks great. Glad you found a good home for it.

    Glad you got it fixed.

    1983 Cannondale ST500 - Tires and ??

The 1990 XCD RD was compatible with indexed 6 or 7 speed use. The 1989 XCD 6000 was 6 speed, but I don't know for a fact that the geometry of the RD changed from 1989 to 1990. So the XCD 6000 might well work for 7 speed. Same goes for the XCE 4050: it was 6 speed when introduced but may work...

    1983 Cannondale ST500 - Tires and ??

I was mistaken about the long cage 4050. I'd forgotten that in addition to the road group the 4050 designation was also used for XCE. Found a NOS long cage XCE in the SunTour MTB parts box.

    1983 Cannondale ST500 - Tires and ??

I found a used long cage XCD. Some scuffs in the usual places on a used MTB RD but in good shape other than that. I have a can of touch up paint somewhere that would make this one look fairly presentable.

    1983 Cannondale ST500 - Tires and ??

I think the 4050 was rated for 24T in index mode. You might push it to 26 large cog but it's not going to have the total capacity you need to run a triple. I have several of them on the shelf and they are all short cage. Are you sticking with 6 speed? There are a number of long cage...

    1989 3.0 Mtb build

I've had that experience on rough steep gravel and a low gear that wasn't low enough. You have to stay seated to have enough traction but don't have enough power to keep pedaling. That's when a nice ride turns into a nice walk. I learned that Look Delta pedals aren't the best choice for...

    1989 3.0 Mtb build

What's your lowest gear? Looks like it might be a bit lower than 1:1. Can you ride an 18% grade? Local gravel rides have some short 10% sections. While I can get over them with pretty conventional vintage bike gearing, 18% is more than I can imagine riding - perhaps even on pavement. I'd...

    1989 3.0 Mtb build

That's pretty light for a 1980s frame. Hope you will put pink decals on it. Thanks for the ride photo. I didn't realize that there was that good a road up Mt. Tam. Where did you start the ride? Is it safe to ride Highway 1?

    C'dale 2.8 R700 - 2 versions in 1992 ???

Well that's interesting. I have New Success on bikes with both Ergo levers and downtube shifters and haven't had any shifting issues. The Sachs Ergo levers used a different index gear than Campagnolo, so compatibility with the derailleur shouldn't be a problem. One thing that won't work is...

    1989 3.0 Mtb build

You have interpreted the serial number correctly I think. I had forgotten the 1989 frames were 130 mm spaced but as they were mostly 6 speed I guess it makes sense. I don't know why they used 5/16" threading but they weren't the only company to do so. Nice project.
