Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Not paved. Just hard packed desert that varies in width. From the dual seen here (made by campground side by sides). To some single track. If all of it is ridden, maybe 3 miles. There is a hill that is a pretty good work out for my out of shapeness. I’m out of gear by the time I reach the top...

    One more for the stable?

I’ve seen some pretty neat photo edited pics online over the years. They’re getting better. Scary better. Or how ‘bout the old fashioned way; a gathering. Like at a campground somewhere in the US next summer? p.s. I might have a line on a XL Beast of the East. Stay tuned….

    Gravel bikes

Interesting. I’m 6’2” with a 34 inch inseam. I think Cannondale sizing chart says I’m good for 58cm. But I wonder about that. I know on their mtb frames prior to 2010 the XL “feels” like the correct size. Reading your comment I may have to stick to a 60cm in my searching.

    Grail Bike

Well since I can’t send a pic in a private message. Which I’d rather do since it is of a non-Cannondale bike I’ll do it here. My apologies if that is wrong.

    Private message pictures

While attempting to send a non-Cannondale picture in a private message I discovered the picture link in the header only functions for url links. And no Attach files function below the message box. Is that normal?

    Grail Bike

On another bike forum I asked the same question and received some positive responses. One such pointed me to a thread of facilitators. Seems there are other “collectors” out there willing to help. I’m giving it some thought. I’ve bought 7 bikes this summer already. My wife is starting to give...

    Grail Bike

Did that bit in May and kids are back to school soon. So unless a deal I can’t pass on falls out of the sky I‘ve got to slow up on bike acquisitions…..I didn’t say I would stop looking though….

    Grail Bike

Has anyone found their “holy grail” bike for sale but it was on the other side of the country? And you didn’t know anyone that lived near the for sale bike? But you managed to buy it anyway. How did you do it? It’s a thought that crossed my mind as I searched for a previously unknown to me...

    One more for the stable?

If I find a Super V in blue that is XL, I’ll pounce on a good deal. I’d like a cyclocross bike but they are rare.

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

Looking at his site I saw it was 85 bucks for a service and he covers return shipping (I think). Not bad, but shipping might be costly.

    Gravel bikes

After some more reading of catalogs I discovered the cyclocross series (XR800, XS800). No mods needed more or less. Just choose a tire that fits. And it appears they can accommodate plenty. Problem that I discovered is that they are UNICORNS! Did I show up to the gravel bike party late and...

    Back to Biking!!

There is a 2005 Warrior 800, patriot blue, LG frame near where a friend lives (7 hour drive from me) that looks good in the CL ad pics for 250. I wondered about “how big of a tire” would fit. I may phone a friend this weekend…

    Pepperoni vs. Standard

I haven’t measured it, but I assumed since it was a 93 it would be 1.25”. And as @JohnnyD mentioned in another post that makes it difficult vs. 1.125” for parts. At this point it’s a thought exercise. Unlikely that I would change anything, since the bike is so complete and functioning as is.

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

Well service kits are still available. Stock up? I'm thinking I should. I've got a lefty that I can't get a service kit for. I can find a shop that still has them like Mendon, if no LBS has them. Or change it out. And at this point that isn't an option. One of the biggest reasons for getting my...

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

I put some thought into that as well as I gathered the parts and tooling to do a service on my Headshok. The "what if" I screw this up, what next? I didn't go too deep on research. But from what I gather I'll need headstock adapters. Due to Cannondale's proprietary dimensions in order to run an...
