    Help identifying damper

If the lock out is not working that probably means the oil has leaked out over the years so it needs a refill. Or the lock ring inside the damper is broken. For as far as I know there are no service kist for the dampers. So for the seals you have to look online. The seal that shows in the last...

    SUPER V carbon

Ah, I did something similar with my selfmade bike. When sanding with a 3M tool, the paint from the headshok fork I discovered left a very nice finish. So I decided to do the frame as well.

    Killer V

No problem changing the brake cables for a normal diameter. As long as you are sure they are brake cables and not shifter cables. Love those Killer V frames

    Hello from a 80's C'dale Employee

Some copy shops have a special setup for scanning books. This setup allows you to scan pages without having to open the book completely. If you can find a shop that has this kind of system you can ask for a quote to get it scanned. Maybe some of us can pitch in to cover a part of the cost to get...

    Hello from a 80's C'dale Employee

In did three trips overseas in the period of 90-92. My first bike, a hand build Raleigh 1989 randonneur had 28 mm Michelin's which only lasted 2300 km on the rear wheel. For my next trip I bought a hand build 1991 Dutch randonneur. This had 28-32 mm Continental tires. Tires lasted 2800-3200 km...

Replacement screws for Coda Magic crank

To my knowledge, those are just ordinary chain ring bolts. Keep in mind that they come in different sizes so measure the length of the xcrrent bolt and you will be able to find replacement bolts. If you want them period correct, buy allen key bolts and not the torx version.

    Hello from a 80's C'dale Employee

Welcome Rod Thanks for the sharing your experience when working at C'dale. Looks like the dynamics in C'dales CT office differs a lot from the atmosphere I experiences when working for C'dale as a temp worker in Oldenzaal the Netherlands.

    Unknown Cannondale Mavic Campagnolo groupset

When you look at the framenumber, the frame is, like you said, made in March 1995. However I cannot find this color in the '95 or '96 catalog. It might be a mid season color, or a color only sold in a certain part of the world. The fork is probably later installed, 98% of the bikes had...

    Headshok, elastomer completely perished

After my optimism, reality struck. A longer test ride with the 3D printed parts showed that the parts slowly buckle. When I took the parts out of the fork, each of the three parts has shrunk about 3-4 mm's and there is hardly any elasticity left.So this was a fail. The next experiment. I do...

    Cannondale History

I think the motorbike was born because some of the workers were riding this kind of motorbikes. Word was that these people came up with the idea to design a bike that they could use themselves. In general you put such an adventure in another entity so that if things go south it cannont take...

    Cannondale History

Here is a nice video talking about the bankruptcy of Cannondale. Nice to have someone on board from the early days and hear more about how the company operated. Really interested to hear his few on things like the vision they had in the US, how they dealt with customer support, etc.

Difference Super V Active vs Carbon / Aluminium Swingarm

I really liked that deryy hanger, saved me a lot of time by using that instead of having to machine a derry mounting point myself. ;-)

Difference Super V Active vs Carbon / Aluminium Swingarm

I am not entirely sure of the exact reasons behind these changes because I was not directly involved with the Engineering department in the US. My work was primarily based in the assembly plant in Europe, where I focused on assembling and servicing bikes. To better understand the engineering...

    Headshok, elastomer completely perished

Ow wow, never realized it has been so long since my last post in this topic. Here is an update. That piece of elastomer I got was not performing well. Even though I shaped the bar in the hope it would make it more flexible, in reality it is just way to stiff and is not giving any damping at...

    Dead of my frame ???

I have seen this before. Probably caused by a combination of design flaw and fatigue. If you can find a specialist that can weld really thin alloy, then it is worth a shot.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Nice bike, looks like a Black Inc version.
