    Convert back from friction shifters

Here are some Dura-Ace ones with a flat back. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-DURA-ACE-SM-ST74-Down-Tube-Barrel-Adjuster-Shifter-Bosses-Flat-Bottom/272998881382?hash=item3f90005866:g:kSkAAOSw4T5XHc0-

    Convert back from friction shifters

I'm not sure if Shimano made these with a flat back side as they did for the Cannondale downtube shifter mounts, but these will work for you...

    F400-600 Circa 2000?

I'm not finding any front suspension models in that era that have that finish. There were a couple in '96 but they didn't have the same decals. Is it CAAD2 or CAAD3? Perhaps components would give us a clue.

    1998 Super V, 700? IDK

I couldn't find a front disc/rear V brake model in the 1998 catalog, or a Super V with that fork. My guess is that it was built up from a frameset. The Super V 1000 was available in Iris Blue with yellow decals, but the catalog says yellow swingarm.

    Member Introductions

Hey Mike, I have a black/orange 1991 SM800 frameset in the basement. Believe it's a 20". I might come up to the swap in Madison next weekend if the weather's not too bad. Could bring it along if you will be there and want to see it.

    Killer V with disc mounts

I think the first disc on a Super V was on the front of a 1997 Super V 4000. If you discount the Ravens which I'm guessing you are, the first full disc SVs were the 1999 SV 2000 and 900. Pretty sure the last was the 2002 SV 700. So there should be several models in that time span to look for...

Cannondale M500 what year what value

I think it depends somewhat on where you live. I think you could get $150 or perhaps a bit more if you live some place where there are a lot of commuters.

Cannondale M500 what year what value

Pretty sure that's a 1994 M500. The year and month of manufacture should be a two letter code, likely above the 00779, sometimes obscured by cable guide. Good entry level hardtail at the time, probably most likely use these days would be commuter. It wouldn't have cost $1000 when new, that was...

wanted 87 roller cam fork 8.5 in

Roller cams didn't have the bosses in a different place from cantis did they? Weren't all the MTB forks the same model Tange, at least in '87? The '86 forks all had crowns I think. The '88 forks were still Tange unicrowns but I don't know if they had that reinforcement on top of the blades...

    ST-300 or ST-500

I know what you mean, but you're ahead of the game buying a complete bike for $40 compared to most of my purchases. They tend to be frames or frames and forks that cost multiples of $40. Been messing with Cannondales since buying my first new one in 1990. Have owned quite a few older than...

    ST-300 or ST-500

If it's up near 1,000 it could be a 1984. Not a lot of difference between the two years, even the colors were the same. Cannondale kept 27" wheels on the touring bikes for quite a while, even though the racing frames were 700c. Pretty sure 1991 was the first year for 700c on the touring...

What is the size of my f500?

The F500 wasn't introduced until 1995, so I wouldn't look at geo charts previous to that year. The 1996 catalog says seat tube length on a medium F500 CAAD2 is 17.6", a large is 19.5", measured to top of tube.

    Old Jekyll 600

It does appear to be circa 2001 judging by the decal style. Catalog doesn't show red but it's not unusual to see non catalog colors on Cannondales. I don't know anything about the recall. If your original dealer is out of business or no longer sells Cannondale, I'd contact another long time...

    ST-300 or ST-500

The ST-300 was a frameset only, so that's why no components are listed. ST-500 had a Superbe Tech rear derailleur. Doesn't appear your bike has one. Your front hub is large flange, the ST-500 came with small flange SunTour hubs. I don't think that's a Super Apex crank on your bike. I'd call...

    Cyclocross Cannondale

The team blue with yellow is really sharp. I have a CAAD4 R4000 painted that way. I'm still looking for a Silk Road with some color. I have 3, two are white (blah), one black (meh). The early white SR500 is almost a CX bike, as I'm running 27 mm Vittoria tubular knobbies on it, SRAM 10 with...

    wanted 89/90 touring fork 1"

Is that fork different from the Tange forks used on earlier touring bikes? I looked for one of them for a long time with no luck. Ended up using a Kinesis CX fork with P clips for the rack. Friend did a 1,000 mile fully loaded trip with it and had no problems. You might consider having a...

    Cyclocross Cannondale

I can never remember whether "S" or "R" is the Headshok frame, and I have two XR800s. Notice the difference in head tube diameter, the HT is the only difference in the frame between the two models. These frames changed very little until the integrated headset and a disc brake option, both in...

Did Cannondale use previous year frames?

The early serial number was production date. Since new models were introduced in late summer, a frame dated 1984 could easily be a 1995 model.

    unknown f1000

CAAD3? Would have been 1996-1998, possibly a color only sold in Europe. 1999 F1000 was CAAD4. Newer had disc brakes.
