I think late 1990s is a sweet spot for Cannondale. The Saeco and Volvo years have a lot of appeal.

Was your bike new when you bought it? It's hard to say why the components are not what the catalog says. My guess would be that the dealer changed them but it's possible that they ran out of the SunTour parts at the factory and substituted 105 from the SR500.

The little (carry in one hand) Honda generators are very quiet but pricey. Great for camping if you just want to run a few low wattage things.

Sounds like pretty minimal damage considering the conditions. If I was out of power for a day I would have run the generator just to give it some exercise. I need to run mine as it hasn't been started since winter.

Are those shift levers 7 speed? I have a 6 speed pair on a GT MTB that I use to get from farm to farm when I'm moving machinery. The 6 speed shifters work fine. Hope you didn't have much damage from the storm. East coast looks a mess.

I wouldn't mind one of those for my otherwise original 1988 SR800. I have the original white Turbo but it's discolored and the cover is coming loose in places. Where are you getting your Panaracers? I see a UK seller on ebay has them, but I've never spent $71 for a bike tire.

The cantilever dropouts were first seen on the 3.0 series frames, introduced on the 1989 models. The OP's bike is older. There were SR500 models with both frame types.

That looks like a 1991 SR600, Cosmic Black with White Web, 7 speed 105SC. Not sure about the Cannondale decal though, the catalog shows the "normal" down tube decal. What's the standover height? I have a friend that might be tall enough to ride it.
