    POLL: to vintage or not.

Nice collection. What happened to the Trek? Too bad we ride such different sizes. I have a very nice 1992 (first year I think) 5500 here that I could part with but it's a 58 cm. Here it is as I purchased it about 10 years ago. I've probably ridden it 4 times. I stupidly sold the original...

    Cannondale R700 CAAD3 Road Bike (1998)

Interesting that it has 700C wheels. I believe all the US compact models were 650C. They were replaced by the Feminine frames in 2001, which could be either 650C or 700C. Sounds like you are getting the bike sorted out to your liking. Your mods all sound reasonable to me. I have several...

    Hello from Cincinnati

I would try to keep a Black Lightning as original as possible, especially if it's from 1987 or 1988 as they were higher up in the line and had better parts than the later ones. I believe they all came with Wolber rims, which are getting hard to find for a reasonable price. I'd begin by looking...

    Cannondale R700 CAAD3 Road Bike (1998)

Seems likely that it's a 1998 European model. 1997-8 models had the CAAD decal on the top tube. It moved to the seat stays for 1999. Is it CAAD2 or CAAD3? May be a compact frame. The 49 compact had a 50 cm top tube while the 50 cm standard road frame had a 52 cm top tube. Does it have...

Wanted Downtube Shifter Boss / cable stop mounts

Brian, what about 3D printing? Might be a lot cheaper than the original die cast. I would make both sides the same as the right hand, with both sides having the steel part passing through the spacer that has the radius to fit the down tube. This would eliminate the threaded boss breaking off...

    1992 T600 Stem

Here's the only one I found at home, may have something else at the shop. It has a 26.2 clamp (guessing that's so you can use 26.0 or 26.4 bar), 100 mm extension, and made for a drop bar. A Cinelli model 64 and an Ergo bend 26.0 Bontrager slipped in without binding. Needs a repaint to look nice.

    1992 T600 Stem

A typical hybrid/MTB model, probably made by HL: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-25-4mm-Quill-Stem-120mm-30-Degree-25-4-Black-1-Bike-Neck/263993452267?hash=item3d773c66eb:g:InoAAOSwKCZbxl4T:sc:USPSPriority!61345!US!-1

    1992 T600 Stem

Here's an interesting TTT, but the clamp would need modification to take a drop bar: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Old-Stock-3T-Roller-Guide-Stem-Chromoly-Steel-Tubing-w-Black-Enamel-Finish/272741580817?hash=item3f80aa4011:g:3-MAAOSwTAZdNjUv:sc:USPSPriorityMailPaddedFlatRateEnvelope!61345!US!-1
