    Unsure On This One....

How about this one? https://tulsa.craigslist.org/bik/d/tulsa-cannondale-caad3-road-bike/7838547488.html $220 for a CAAD 3 bike with a Fatty fork and roller-cam brakes; probably intended as a cyclocross bike...

    Unsure On This One....

It certainly doesn't help. Of course, replacing a wheel isn't such a big deal, but with the derailleur or the hanger broken, it does bring up the question of what happened to the bike to cause that damage and what other damage might have happened as a result.

    Greetings from New York

That is a pretty cool fade paint job! There are a lot of bikes here on Vintage Cannondale that have amazing-looking paint for their age. My 1996 R600 looks pretty good after almost 30 years, though it isn't perfect - scratches here and there, some paint chips from chain drops....

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

I'm thinking that the heartrate issue may be tied in with gearing and cadence. I wonder if I should try shifting to a lower gear (say a 53x23 or a 39x17) and pedaling at a higher cadence. Last time I tried that, I was able to get my cadence up somewhere between 85-90. Probably need to invest in...

    1987 SR600 Shifter

I'm glad you found what you need. It's too bad they're so expensive, but they're pretty uncommon now, I'd assume. South Salem is pretty good with older, obscure parts. That is a lovely bike! The purple with what looks like a reddish hyper-highlight is very striking. My R600 is in mid-90s...

    Health, Heartrate, and Disappointment....

Sums it up right there! First, my right hip and ankle have decided to act up a bit. Oddly, I only notice the pain (not severe, but noticeable) when I'm walking, and usually in the first couple of minutes after I stand up from my desk. When I'm on the bike (45 minutes 4x a week, usually in the...

    1987 SR600 Shifter

The South Salem Cycleworks link I posted says something about a set of "Shimano 600 SL-6208 6-speed braze-on downtube shifters with Keyhole braze-on adaptors." I don't know what a "keyhole adapter" is, and the photographer didn't bother to take a picture of said adapter. There's a Shimano...

    1987 SR600 Shifter

Those curved boss covers, I think they're called, are available on eBay. Just search for the model number, SL-6208. Those are one of four variants of the Shimano 600EX six-speed SIS indexed downtube shifters. The finning/ribbing on the left lever looks like the ones I saw on eBay, though there...

    Unsure On This One....

I have not tried an image search. The seller not listing the exact year and model seems odd to me, and the way the bike is treated for the pictures does not indicate someone who really cares for their bike.

    Unsure On This One....

I did a bit of investigation. That does look like 2014-ish CAADX cyclocross bike. Several models in 2014-2016 were gloss black with white, and the wheels look to be Maddux CX DISC, but I can't tell if they're CX 2.0 (which would have been on the top-of-the-line CAADX cross bikes) or some other...

    Unsure On This One....

https://tulsa.craigslist.org/bik/d/tulsa-10-year-old-cannondale-road-bike/7847148032.html I'm very wary of this one. In my area, but there are some egregious things about the post that I kind of take as red flags: 1) "Like New" condition, when it's clearly stated that the rear derailleur "is...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

If someone with moderator powers wants to excise the exercise/indoor trainer/health stuff and put it in a different thread, you have my persmission to do so - not that you need it. :) Thanks, Johnny. Sorry about the extreme topic drift here - this post has nothing to do with where I rode my...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Well, I did manage to get my heart rate up over 120 for 20 minutes of a 45 minute workout a week or so ago. Unfortunately it was only the once, and it's been tough for me to put it even close to that since. I may be over-doing it a bit. It doesn't help that I'm on so many medications for my...

    1996 R600

Point taken. I did look at the BB codes of my R600, and yes, the last two digits of the frame code on my bike are "56". I stand corrected. Well, sit corrected, actually.

    1996 R600

According to the info in the serial numbers pages here, 1993-1999 did not have the frame size as part of the stuff stamped on the bottom bracket. Four groups of numbers/letters: 1) Month/Year upper left, both alphabetic 2) Five-digit sequence number upper right 3) Six-digit fabrication shop...

    1996 R600

I checked Sheldon Brown's pages re Shimano gruppos through history, and he mentions that reports say that RX100 was basically the same as 105SC, just with a silver finish instead of gray (my 105SC hubs are gray). Oh, and Dura-Ace of that vintage was 9-speed, but that hadn't filtered down to 600...

    1996 R600

Twin to mine! Ultra Violet to Black Fade, the colors used by Timex-Cannondale racing team back in the day. It does look a bit smaller than a 56. My 56 has about three fingers-width between the top tube and down tube at the head tube, and that looks like less. Of course the serial number on the...
