A lot of bike company's these days use smaller boxes. Where both rims are besides the frame, crank off. At least in my area. The standard old school box is probably that size, and will fit. You might also be able to take a bike bag on american airlines. I would ask them.

The frame is in good shape, except that dent. the best way would be bondo. The other way would be drill a tiny hole and pull it out. but, its aluminum... so not the best idea. The for would be a standard 1" fork. I do not have any forks for it. I have parts, but they would not be time period...

It is an art. There are a few on youtube. To get it exact for a restoration would be a little tough. But if you are going for an overall splatter. It will be cool. This one has a splatter paint, and I think is cool. http://community.vintagecannondale.com/showcase/sm700.21/

It looks like you are making progress! I still can not believe it had that crack. I guess we all get old age. Is the frame almost done?

Sadly, I think it is an art that may be lost. This is why the value of the SE2000 is value if the paint is good. that space pattern is very hard to replicate. lucky for the SE1000... standard silver. :)

The owners manual is very cool. would love to get a scan of that to add to the website. Very clean bike. I would not part it out. post it here. and if no luck, go to ebay.

Yes, I still have it. It is a 26/26". The rear is for roller cam. the front fork originally was a roller cam fork. I am in the Bay Area. let me know. I also have a 89 20" and a 87/88 24/24" for free.
