Welcome! This Cannondale would be a 2000+. It might be a 2006/08ish. Where the numbers are stamped, there would have been a bar code. That would have said the date of the frame. The rear drop outs make me think it is at least 2004+. Hard to tell the exact model... It looks like you have...

I have sent a PM. If they are Vintage Cannondale decals. It is possible for the decals to be tricky sometimes. You would rub the decals over the clear. To get the decal to stick to the clear transfer tape. Once all the decals are transferred to the clear tape. You are ready to go!

Hello, this is a 1990 probably built in 89. The rear dropouts are 90+. with no paint, you can built it to whatever model you like. I would look thru the 1990 catalog. :)

And be carefully with the bonded rear swing. A lot of them crack.

Yes, any 1 1/8th stem. I find shorter and more rise of the stem is better as the years get on. :)

Hello, Suntour and Shimano have different pull ratio's. It depends if you are going period correct. Or exact M500 restoration. If the bike got a upgrade down the road you could go with anything. For Suntour, the parts are harder to find than shimano. But any Suntour der would work of that time...

The best would be a photo so we know what we are talking about. If it is really bad, yes.. a do over... it is possible to color sand the area, clear and color sand that to blend. upload a photo and we can go from there.

This could be a 2007 model for Europe. The decals are a little strange. The "Handmade in the USA" is odd. Do they look original? with a good clear over the decals?

The problem is, after 1990. Each bike had a set that was just for that frame. It makes it difficult to produce.

Cannondale had drama in switch from 1989 to 1990 and from 1999 to 2000.. Do you have a full photo? or is there another SN? There would usually be 2 letters to determine the year. They might be under the guide.
